𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬, 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐂𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 36.06 𝐓𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚

Recently, Healthy Seas completed the clean-up of an abandoned mussel farm in Salamina, Greece, removing 36.06 tons of marine litter from the sea and coastline. The site had been abandoned for more than 15 years, acting as a constant threat to human safety and a barrier to local coastal-related economic activities.

This remarkable operation was implemented by Healthy Seas, with the support of Hyundai Motor Europe and the contribution of other strategic and local partners. To support this collective effort, IGMAR Shipyards team stepped in to actively assist the cleanup operations on the ground.

Following the recovery, and as part of the broader initiative's circular economy strategy, materials suitable for recycling are directed to the appropriate streams. Notably, the recovered nylon fishing nets will be sent to Healthy Seas’ partners to be processed into regenerated nylon for new products.

Because Salamina is home to one of our shipyard facilities, preserving this marine environment is a deeply important cause for our community. We remain committed to supporting actions that protect and restore our local ecosystems.

𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫-𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭. ⚓

Looking back at a great day from the past few months, we had the pleasure of hosting 15 graduate students from the Πανεπιστήμιο Δυτικής Αττικής / University of West Attica’s MSc in Port Organisation, Operation, Development & Management at our Salamina shipyard.

We discussed modern practices in the shipbuilding and repair sector, with emphasis on environmental management, biological cleaning systems, water recycling, and the application of international ISO standards. The conversation extended to Greece's role in global shipping and how the domestic shipyard industry can serve as a pillar of growth for the sector, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

Because the future of this industry ultimately rests in the hands of these young professionals, it was especially rewarding to have an IGMAR Group scholarship recipient among the visiting students.

Last week, during the global gathering of , we took the opportunity to officially introduce IGMAR Group directly from where the real work happens.

Set directly amidst our active drydocks, the evening offered an authentic glimpse into the heart of our operations. It was a gathering of partners, clients, and industry professionals, elevated by the unique sculptures crafted by Apostolart, perfectly merging his creative vision with our heavy engineering environment.

We extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended. A special acknowledgment to the Minister of Labour and Social Security, Niki Kerameus, whose address delivered a strong message of support for the strategic value and the dynamic future of Greek shipbuilding and shipping.
