We started this project out of love for it, and our main goal was to give Ikaria's wine the place it deserves on the wine map of Greece. In September 2007, our modern winery opened to the public at Profitis Ilias, Raches. It is built on a vineyard at an altitude o

f 610m. The "cyclopean petal", the place of traditional wine jar storage, predispose the visitor for the wine making process. In the basement of the winery there is a wine making and bottling facility as well as a special cellar for wine maturing and storage. On the upper floor, there are the winery’s office, presentation and tasting facilities and a show room with a "museum type" collection of traditional utensils. The final touch of our winery setting is a small, ancient type theater, and a traditional building designated as a vintage cellar. Visitors have the opportunity to taste our wine in all these places whilst enjoying an imposing view to the Aegean Sea. We vinify with two varietals Fokiano and Begleri , both of them are indigenous and give P.G.I Ikaria wines.

🍇 Σεπτέμβρης… ο μήνας του τρύγου στην Ελλάδα.

Το ώριμο σταφύλι του Σεπτέμβρη από το αμπέλι περνά στο γρανιτένιο πατητήρι, ο χυμός γίνεται μούστος και σιγά σιγά ξεκινά η διαδικασία που θα μας χαρίσει το κρασί.

Στην αρχαία Ελλάδα, το κρασί δεν ήταν απλώς ένα ποτό. Ήταν μέρος μιας ολόκληρης κοινωνικής εμπειρίας. Στα συμπόσια, οι άνθρωποι συναντιούνταν γύρω από ένα κοινό τραπέζι για να συζητήσουν, να ακούσουν μουσική, να μοιραστούν ιδέες, ιστορίες και να φιλοσοφήσουν. Το κρασί περνούσε από χέρι σε χέρι και το τραπέζι γινόταν χώρος επικοινωνίας.

Από τον τρύγο του Σεπτέμβρη μέχρι το κρασί στο ποτήρι, μια παράδοση χιλιάδων χρόνων συνεχίζει να βρίσκει τη θέση της στη σύγχρονη ζωή των ανθρώπων όλου του κόσμου.

Η Ελλάδα σήμερα δημιουργεί και δίνει στο κρασί τον δικό της χαρακτήρα.
Μιας παράδοσης που εξελίσσεται χωρίς να χάνει την ουσία της. Ο οινοποιός παρακολουθεί βοηθά και παρακολουθεί την διαδικασία με γνώση, εμπειρία, υπομονή και τέχνη, όπως κάθε τεχνίτης. Η έμπνευσή του είναι οι ήχοι της ζύμωσης ο ήχος του αέρα η θερμοκρασία του χώματος και των εργαλείων, τα χρώματα του αμπελώνα και η γεύση των σταφυλιών.

Κι έτσι, κάθε Σεπτέμβρη, το αμπέλι ολοκληρώνει έναν κύκλο και ξεκινά έναν καινούργιο.. όπως κι εμείς 🤸

Τι συμβαίνει όταν ο ήχος μπλέκεται με τον οίνο;

Στις 14 Αυγούστου, στο Οινοποιείο Αφιανές, ζήσαμε μια νύχτα γεμάτη αυτοσχεδιασμούς, ambient & electronic soundscapes, ψυχεδέλεια και rare grooves συντονίστηκαν με το τοπίο των Ραχών και τα κρασιά της οικογένειάς μας από τους Ikaria state of mind.

Σήμερα έχουμε τον πρώτο παραδοσιακό τρύγο του 26. Σας περιμένουμε από το απόγευμα στις 5 και μετά για να πατήσουμε στο γρανιτένιο πατητήρι τα σταφύλια από πρώτο αμπελοτόπι στα 400μ υψόμετρο 🍇.
Τα πήλινα πιθάρια μας χωμένα στην γη έχουν καθαριστεί και σε λίγες ημέρες θα υποδεχτούν τον μούστο που θα πατήσουμε σήμερα.
