📌The Millennium celebrates Its 30th Anniversary
On February 14, The Millennium Project marks its 30th anniversary, celebrating three decades of global, participatory futures research dedicated to humanity as a whole. What began in 1992 as a feasibility study by Ted Gordon and Jerome Glenn has grown into a unique, decentralized international think tank.
Over the past three decades, the Millennium Project has pioneered global futures research that is not tied to any single country, ideology, or issue. Its work has advanced concepts such as environmental security, developed tools like the State of the Future Index (SOFI) and the Global Futures Intelligence System (GFIS), and outlined the 15 Global Challenges and 20 editions of the State of the Future.
With more than 70 research reports and over 4,000 participants across its international network of Nodes, MP has consistently helped shape long-term thinking in policy, sustainability, human development, and even the governance of emerging technologies like Artificial General Intelligence.
As the Millennium Project celebrates 30 years of global, participatory futures research shaping policy, sustainability, and human development, what do you hope it will achieve in the next 30? Share your thoughts in the comments!
