Initially focused on aircraft spraying, 3D SA has expanded to include services such as aircraft maintenance, firefighting, and airport security. Known globally for its innovation and expertise, 3D SA frequently undertakes government contracts in the weather modification sector, offering personalized solutions and protecting against hail, reinforcing rain or snow.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Weather Modification Pilot based in Thessaloniki. The Weather Modification Pilot will be responsible for piloting aircrafts to perform weather modification missions, ensuring safe and efficient operations. Day-to-day tasks include pre-flight planning, conducting weather modification activities such as cloud seeding, and post-flight data reporting. The pilot will be expected to continuously monitor weather conditions, maintain high safety standards, and coordinate with ground and technical support teams.
Qualifications
• Flight experience of over one thousand (1,000) flight hours, of which at least two hundred and fifty (250) hours must be on multiengine (MULTIENGINE) aircraft under IFR.100 hours in weather modification
• One hundred (100) operational hours in weather modification flight programs, or fifty (50) operational hours in weather modification flight programs and up to twenty-five (25) training hours under a certified instructor, Line Training Commander (with the necessary supporting documentation).
• The operational hours in weather modification flight programs mentioned above may overlap with the multiengine (MULTIENGINE) and IFR hours.
• Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate.
• PA 31T type
• Professional pilot license or an equivalent certificate from an ICAO member state, with an Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) rating and the ability to operate multiengine aircraft.
• Valid pilot's license with relevant endorsements
• Experience in weather modification activities, such as cloud seeding
• Strong understanding of meteorology and atmospheric conditions
• Excellent flying skills with a focus on safety and compliance
• Ability to work in a team and coordinate with ground support
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
• Willingness to be based in Thessaloniki for on-site operations
• Experience in government contract work is a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• A 3 to 5-month contract for 2025, with the possibility of extension to a 6-month contract in 2026.
