🟥 The philosophy of Z-RED focuses on specializing in a vast range of research activities aimed at fostering innovation, improving existing technologies, and developing novel solutions that address the dynamic needs of the digital era as well as societal, environmental, and wellness challenges. Our vision is to push the boundaries of what is possible in communications, from enhancing delivery time, reliability, and security of data transmission, up to pioneering the next generation of communication standards and technologies. Our research and development activities cover a broad spectrum, including but not limited to, the design and optimization of network architectures, the development of advanced algorithms for data exchange/processing, the support of related training/education activities, the exploration of cutting-edge technologies such as 5G and beyond, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), Big Data, and Cloud/Edge Computing.

🇬🇧 What a great three days at IEEE CSCN 2026 in London!

✨ The IEEE Conference on Standards for Communications & Networking (CSCN 2026) concluded in London after three days of inspiring discussions, knowledge exchange and collaboration among researchers, academics, industry professionals and experts in communications and networking.

📍 London, UK | 7–9 September 2026

The conference provided an excellent platform for exploring the latest developments in communication and networking standards, emerging technologies and the future of connected systems — while fostering meaningful connections between academia, research and industry.

🤝 We were proud to support IEEE CSCN 2026 and to contribute to an event that brought together a community working toward the advancement of communications and networking technologies.

A special highlight was the conference’s co-location with the One6G Summit 2026, which made London a vibrant meeting point for the global communications community.

👏 Congratulations to the IEEE Communications Society, the CSCN 2026 organisers, speakers, authors, participants and fellow supporters on a successful conference!

✨ Highlights:

📌 The Conference will be co-located with the One6G Summit 2026 (https://summit2026.one6g.org/). Thus, a week full of communication activities taking place in London!

📌 Best accepted and presented papers of IEEE 2026 will be invited to be extended and reviewed for potential publication to a Special Issue in the IEEE Communications Standards Magazine.

📌 Accepted and presented papers/demos/posters will be published in the IEEE CSCN Conference Proceedings and submitted to ®.

📌 For the first time, IEEE CSCN introduces paper submissions as "Emerging Communication Standards Update (ECSU)" (3 pages long) that will provide concise, technically grounded updates on recent and ongoing developments in emerging communication and networking standards.

📌 IEEE CSCN features half-day Workshops or Special Sessions that could contain accepted papers AND/OR invited talks and/or a Panel, offering an excellent opportunity for dissemination of your ongoing or recently concluded (European or International) research projects.

🎯1️⃣ The primary target group of UNWIND is young adult women (18 – 35 years old) who lack skills relevant for the labour market and for this reason face difficulties in accessing employment.

👩‍💼👩🏽‍💼 The targeted female population should have at least a school diploma and genuine interest to work in the ICT sector.

The project activities are open to all members of this target group, yet it should be noted that in selecting the participants in the project activities, priority will be given to women facing double disadvantage, like migrant women, single mothers, Roma women etc.

🎯2️⃣ The secondary target groups include a series of entities that are close either to the labour market and/or young adult lowskilled women in Türkiye, Greece, Germany & the EU, such as:

- Employers in the ICT sector / ICT companies (representatives of the sector).

- Educational institutions both public and private providing learning and training to the primary target group.

- Public bodies (local, regional and/or national) responsible for designing and implementing labour market schemes for young adult low-skilled women.

- Intermediary organizations (such as technology hubs, incubators, telecentres, co-working spaces, and other community-based organizations) that facilitate access to technological tools and/or employment.

- CSOs supporting women and other relevant non-profit organisations focusing on the empowerment of women and especially those most vulnerable such as low-skilled women.

🎯3️⃣ Apart from the above target groups, UNWIND will also target the general p***c in the partner countries and the EU in order to inform and raise awareness about the objectives and results of the action.

📊 BEiNG-WISE Cost Action met in Rome, the Eternal City!

💻 Feeling grateful and happy for participating in the BEiNG-WISE Management Committee and Technical Joint Working Group meeting in Rome, on January 26-27, 2026, regarding the critical intersection of technical cybersecurity, legal frameworks, and human behavior.

👨‍💻👩‍💻 The meeting, which took place in the Faculty of Information Engineering, Sapienza University of Rome, focused on interdisciplinary topics, foster interactive workshops, and strengthen collaboration among researchers working at the intersection of technology, law, and human factors.

Some of the topics we discussed were:

🔹 Strategic Visions: Keynote addresses by Prof. Kai Rannenberg and Prof. Anatolii Marushchak on IFIP activities and future directions.

🔹 Future of Software: An insightful session on “Securely Embracing Vibe Coding” by Gianluigi Me.

🔹 Human-Centric Security: Stefano Rinauro guided us to the digital age through his talk on “From Systems Security to People’s Protection”.

🔹 Interdisciplinary Research: The Working Groups presented cutting-edge topics ranging from Age of Information in UAVs to the Emotional Foundations of Cybersecurity.
