Pilotage Update in Argentina from our agent, Seven Seas.

🚨ARGENTINA — PILOTAGE UPDATE 🚨
Please note that, by means of Decree 690/26 published on 31.07 in Official Bulletin, the government approved the new "Regulation of pilotage services for the rivers, ports, passes and channels of the Argentine Republic", replacing the regime of Decree 2694/91 in force since 1991. The new framework enters into force as of 01.08
⚓ The main points, as per Argentina's Maritime Navigation Chamber, are summarized below
🔹 The Argentine Coast Guard (Prefectura Naval Argentina – PNA) will keep the registry of licensed pilots and shall register every professional who applies and meets the qualification requirements, with no limit on numbers. Licensed pilots may be freely engaged by users as independent professionals.
🔹 The transport services required for the embarkation and disembarkation of pilots – whether by land, water or air – may be freely provided and/or contracted by users or third parties. In those locations where private parties do not provide such services, the PNA shall do so upon the pilot's sole request, invoicing users for the services rendered.
🔹 The PNA may itself provide pilotage or baquía (local-knowledge) services whenever, in its judgment, exceptional situations prevent the normal functioning of the system, and may also request the Argentine Navy to render such services.
🔹 Remuneration will be agreed in each case between the pilot(s) and the users requesting their intervention, with the National Ports and Navigation Agency (ANPYN) setting maximum tariffs for each type of service. Such maximum tariffs are all-inclusive: they cover all actions and concepts inherent to the service – including berthing and anchoring maneuvers – and no additional items may be billed separately unless expressly approved by ANPYN.
🔹 ANPYN will issue the rules necessary to ensure the continuous provision of the service under transparent, non-monopolistic systems, while the PNA will exercise the navigation safety police function to guarantee continuity and will issue the complementary technical standards. A term of 180 calendar days as from the entry into force of the decree is established for the Argentine Navy to transfer the certification processes of pilots to the PNA.
🚫 SERVICE DISRUPTION 🚫
In reply to Government Decree as of 01.08 pm hrs, pilot representatives have informally advised that pilotage services have been interrupted pending clarification of the implementation and scope of the new regulatory framework established by the decree.
❌ Up to now pilotage services continues suspended, and affect pilotage operations at all Argentine ports until the scope and implementation of the new decree are clarified.

This recognition, endorsed by the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) via Port Marine Notice No. 33 of 2026, confirms that Yacht International Singapore meets the highest safety and operational standards for crew transfer between vessels at anchorage — including certified 150N life jackets, two-manned boats on every trip, and full compliance with PMC No. 34 of 2020. The circular has been distributed to all SSA members and is publicly accessible on the MPA website.

Yacht International Singapore operates a fleet of nine vessels — aluminum and fiberglass launches plus a 24-metre supply vessel — available 24/7 for crew transfer and cargo operations across Singapore port limits and outer port waters. The company holds ISO 45001 certification, bizSAFE STAR status, and maintains 24/7 manned counters at both West Coast Pier and Marina South Pier. Their fleet is IACS-certified and approved by global majors including Chevron, Shell, and the Singapore Navy.

The MPA whitelist accreditation is a further mark of confidence in a partner we have long trusted for safe and reliable launch services in Singapore.
