The Suriname-Guyana Chamber of Commerce (SGCC), in partnership with the Trinidad and Tobago Manufacturers’ Association (TTMA), is pleased to have concluded the successful Suriname segment of the TTMA Trade & Investment Mission 2026, bringing together 58 delegates representing more than 30 Trinidad and Tobago companies for a week of structured business engagement, government consultations, market exploration, and strategic networking activities in Guyana then Suriname.

Facilitated and organized locally by SGCC, the Suriname programme formed part of a broader regional initiative aimed at strengthening trade, investment, and commercial collaboration between Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana. The mission builds on the success of the 2025 edition, which generated more than 300 SGCC-curated business-to-business meetings across both Guyana and Suriname and contributed to over US$300 million in reported business opportunities, partnerships, and commercial deals.

Following months of consultation, company profiling, stakeholder engagement, and targeted matchmaking undertaken by SGCC and TTMA, participating companies have been connected with relevant Surinamese private sector organizations, government institutions, distributors, manufacturers, buyers, suppliers, investors, and strategic partners. Each company was individually assessed to identify opportunities aligned with its products, services, expansion objectives, and partnership interests.

During the Suriname leg of the mission, delegates participated in more than 200 pre-arranged business-to-business meetings across a wide range of sectors, including oil and gas, manufacturing, construction, logistics, agriculture, food and beverage, tourism and hospitality, professional services, technology, renewable energy, and trade facilitation. These engagements are designed to explore opportunities ranging from distributorship agreements and representation partnerships to joint ventures, procurement opportunities, service contracts, and long-term investment collaborations.

As Suriname continues to position itself as a key investment destination within the region, particularly through the growth of its energy sector and supporting industries, the mission serves as a platform to foster meaningful commercial relationships, facilitate market access, and create new avenues for regional economic growth and private sector collaboration.
