HKU Design, Build & Fly (DBF) Team is formed by undergraduate students of the University of Hong Kong.

The team joins the AIAA Design, Build & Fly Competition and the BMFA University and Schools Payload Challenge each year.

Result announcement!!!

In June 2022, two groups from the HKU DBF Team participated in the BMFA 2022 University and Schools Payload Challenge 5 ( ), and we are proud to announce that we have won both the champion 🏆 and 1st runner-up 🥈 of the competition!!!

The event was held on 14-15 June 2022 at the BMFA National Centre near Grantham, Lincolnshire. A total of 20 university teams, consisting of renowned institutes from around the world, took part in this annual event. To get to where we are, months of hard work has been put in place to not only make this trip happen, but also design and construct each and every single model plane with precision and meticulosity.

We would like to take this golden opportunity to thank all our sponsors for supporting us throughout the journey. Our deepest appreciation goes to Cathay Pacific ( ), the Title Airline Sponsor, for offering us the chance to travel to the UK!! Photo taken in yesterday’s flight test. A shifting of payload caused a Centre of Gravity relocation. Plane got out of control and landed in the trees. Luckily it was recovered.
