Japan has turned Oita Airport into a kawaii paradise with its rebranding as Oita Hello Kitty Airport, which officially opened on April 13, 2025. As part of the World Expo celebrations, the airport features Hello Kitty and Sanrio character-themed decorations, photo ops, exclusive merchandise, and themed services. This makeover is part of Japan's push to boost tourism, offering a unique blend of cute culture and practical travel. The rebranding will last until October 13, 2025, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Kuromi.
