形式美誕生於虛實間 | 吳冠中《河邊老樹》

「都是老松，不一定都美。」1980年吳冠中在〈關於抽象美〉中寫道。他關心的非物象名稱，而是「形、色、虛實、節奏」。而在理論發表前，1977年的《河邊老樹》已在畫布上給出答案。畫比理論更早抵達，標誌性的點線面已然萌芽。

岸上老樹蒼勁厚重，油彩堆疊出重量；落入水中，倒影失去重量，枝幹打散成游移筆觸。「一實一虛、一重一輕」，自然在畫中獲得第二次生命。

這非單純寫生，而是重構。倒影是走向抽象的通道。岸上是現實，水下是形式；形式可以飛翔，線卻始終連著自然。一樹一影間，1977年的吳冠中已提前走到了「形式美」，並預示了「風箏不斷線」的真諦。

The Beauty of Form Born Between the Substantial and the Insubstantial | WU GUANZHONG Old Riverside Trees

“All old pines, yet not all are beautiful.” wrote Wu Guanzhong in 1980. He focused not on an object's name, but on form, color, rhythm, and the interplay of void and substance. His 1977 masterpiece Old Trees by the River answered this on canvas before theory followed. Art arrived before theory; his signature language sprouted right here.

On bank, the tree stands vigorous with heavy oil; in water, the reflection loses weight into fluid brushstrokes. Solid and void, heavy and light—nature gains a second life.

This is reconstruction, not mere sketching. Reflections serve as gateways to abstraction: reality above, form below. Form may soar, yet the line stays anchored to nature. Between tree and shadow, Wu embraced "the beauty of form" ahead of time, foreshadowing his philosophy: "A kite never breaks its line."

從「畫什麼」到「怎麼畫」，本次秋拍中國當代藝術專題，延續了我們一直以來對這條脈絡的關注與深耕。

從岳敏君筆下真實的朋友，到夏禹、張凱、張英楠、宋琨描繪的都市孤獨與幻想；從劉煒那片會呼吸的綠色風景，到梁遠葦「畫花的過程」、薛松拼貼的藝術史、冷廣敏冷靜的切割。本次專題將這些作品放在一起，兩條脈絡在其中交織並行。

趙無極《01.06.65》：天地初生時的觀看之道

真正偉大的藝術能改變我們觀看世界的方式。1960年代是趙無極的創作巔峰，《01.06.65》展現出極具克制的內斂力量。

作品最動人處在於「虛實」空間。中央聚合黑、褐、灰紫與赭紅的飛白與厚塗；上下則留出澄明淺白，以「虛」托「實」。下方薄彩如水承天光，中央深色如岸與洲渚，上方赭橙讓山的形貌消融於煙霧。趙無極將傳統山水「可望、可行、可遊、可居」的精神，從具體「物件」提煉為空間「關係」——形體消失，山水骨骼猶存。畫背「致寶拉－瑪麗與安德烈・夏斯特」的題簽，更見證了他與法國權威藝術史學家的深厚友誼。

從這幅作品延伸，二十世紀諸多大師皆在探索視覺邊界：林飛龍覆寫圖騰展現流動身分；畢卡索以極簡線條捕捉動態；陳蔭羆提煉金石記憶；余本凝練土地重量；沙耆將自然轉化為情緒；丁雄泉則讓生命力溶入色彩。他們共同證明：當形體褪去，風景昇華成了一種觀看天地的永恆方式。

Zao Wou-Ki's 01.06.65: A Way of Seeing at the Dawn of Creation

Truly great art alters how we view the world. 01.06.65, created during Zao Wou-Ki’s peak in the 1960s, demonstrates a remarkably restrained inner power.

The painting's magic lies in its spatial interplay of void and substance. Dense strokes of black, brown, grayish-purple, and ochre converge at the center, anchored by translucent light-toned voids above and below. The delicate lower plane reflects light like water, the dark center evokes shores and islets, while the ochre top dissolves mountains into mist. Zao Wou-Ki refined traditional Chinese landscape philosophy—"to be viewed, traveled, and inhabited"—from physical objects into spatial relations: physical forms disappear, yet the spirit of landscape remains. The inscription on the back to Paule-Marie and André Chastel further attests to his friendship with the prominent French art historian.

Extending beyond this work, 20th-century masters similarly explored new ways of seeing: Wifredo Lam overlapped totems to showcase fluid identity; Picasso used minimalist lines to capture movement; George Chann distilled memories of ancient steles; Yee Bon condensed the weight of the land; Sha Qi transformed nature into emotion; and Walasse Ting merged raw vitality into pure color. Together, they prove that when physical forms recede, landscape elevates into an eternal way of perceiving the universe.

兩條脈絡，一個時代——從「我」到「物」

中國當代藝術近四十年，主題與語言持續演變。本次秋拍以兩條脈絡梳理：主觀敘事（畫什麼）與客觀記錄（怎麼畫）。

Part 1｜主觀敘事：時代的講述者
90年代，宏觀敘事退場，藝術家轉向身邊的人。岳敏君《大耳朵》畫朋友，老布鞋與表情，即時代肖像。張曉剛《凳子上的人4號—宣誓者》中，男子舉手宣誓，腳下木凳卻隨時傾倒：姿態堅定，世界已不穩。
千禧年後，焦點轉向都市中的「我」。陳飛以圓形畫布營造窺探感；夏禹描繪平凡日常；張凱並置理想與阻礙；張英楠以幾何空間拉開距離；宋琨讓臉在暈染中模糊；李真以佛家造像入雕塑，溫暖幽默。

Part 2｜客觀記錄：世界的觀察者
藝術家也冷靜觀察、記錄與重構靜物、風景與藝術史經典。劉煒《風景》中植物恣意生長；梁遠葦畫「畫花的過程」；王玉平記錄街頭日常；薛松讓蒙德里安色塊與中國文化碎片碰撞；劉煒水墨寫下「no zuo no die」；黃宇興《奇遇—南方公園》是螢光風格前的轉型切片；劉小東以冷眼旁觀記錄人體；毛旭輝把剪刀化為隱喻；韋嘉游走具象與抽象；冷廣敏以「切割」代替筆觸，讓物自己說話。

兩條脈絡共同指向：一代代藝術家以自身方式，在急速變化的時代確認「我」與「我們」的位置。姿態在變，目光未移。本次秋拍是這條脈絡的完整集結。

Two Threads, One Era — From the "I" Narrative to the Gaze upon "Things"
Chinese contemporary art has shifted in theme and language over nearly 40 years. This autumn auction traces two threads: subjective narrative (“what to paint”) and objective observation (“how to paint”).

Part 1｜Subjective Narrative: Storytellers of an Era
In the 1990s, grand narratives faded; artists turned to real people nearby. Yue Minjun’s Big Ear paints friends—an era portrait. Zhang Xiaogang’s Man on a Stool No.4: Oath Taker shows a firm oath on a stool ready to topple. After 2000, focus shifted to the urban self: Chen Fei, Xia Yu, Zhang Kai, Zhang Yingnan, Song Kun, and Li Chen each capture ordinary life, paradox, distance, blur, and warmth.

Part 2｜Objective Observation: Witnesses of the World
Artists also observe and reconstruct still lifes, landscapes, and art history. Liu Wei, Liang Yuanwei, Wang Yuping, Xue Song, Huang Yuxing, Liu Xiaodong, Mao Xuhui, Wei Jia, and Leng Guangmin turn objects, processes, and classics into new visual records.

Both threads converge: artists confirm the place of “I” and “we” in a changing era. Gestures change; the gaze remains.
