If you are looking for a case study for your students in their degree coursework, do consider getting my case study published by Sage.

As this is my very first publication of mentoring case study, I, myself have received mentoring from Dr. Pauline Fatien Diochon, Rebecca Frankel and our group of Coaching & Mentoring Community of Practice. Thank you very much for your generous guidance and patience.

University and Industry Connectivity.

One of the highlights of our Corporate Disruptors Forum is the Executive Insight Roundtable whereby executives are able to discuss freely in a nonchalant manner on deep and serious topics while hosted by experts who hold these topics dear to their hearts.

One of such roundtable on our up-and-coming this Friday is "How to Make University-Industry Collaboration Successful", hosted by Dr. Christian Friedl, Alisson Avila and Anne Rimmer.

Our roundtables take place towards the end of the forum and also serve as a networking opportunity for all delegates.

Whilst the landscape of higher education has been changing with the advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, the pandemic has accelerated that speed of the impending disruption faced by universities.

This is a valid question faced by all universities which had relied on a model that has seen decades of success.

In our next forum, we are honoured to have Adjunct. Professor Anthony Teo, Chevalier of the French Order of the Palmes Académiques to share with us his insights in a reimagined university model.

Having chaired the inaugural conference on "Univer-Cities 2013" as Convenor-Editor, Anthony was instrumental in the publication of 4 volumes of "Univer-Cities Volume I-IV Series."

The IV Volume of University-Cities was released in the height of the pandemic with a bold titled of "Reshaping Strategies to Meet Radical Change, Pandemics and Inequality.

Do come join us on the 12th of November for an insightful expertise sharing in a "No Media, No Press, No Powerpoint" format.

We believe "Executives Learn Best from Conversations."

WHERE ARE YOU NOW ON CORPORATE INNOVATION?

Why is Corporate Innovation essential today? And as a corporate, where are you now on Corporate Innovation?

Forbes Councils Member Talal Rafi wrote in the Forbes Business Council COUNCIL POST "Why Corporate Innovation is Essential Today":

"With Deloitte's findings in mind, here are three suggestions I encourage large corporations to consider if they're looking to innovate,

1. Consider creating a corporate innovation lab. This can be a very effective way to innovate. Removing barriers for employees to test out their ideas is key, co-founder of Intuit Scott Cook said. Many employees of large companies are creative but cannot execute their ideas because they already have a defined scope of work.

2. Have a venture capital arm to your corporation. Young startups need investments and resources, which large companies can offer. Startups, in return, often have innovative ideas that could possibly disrupt your industry. Facebook, for example, bought Instagram early on, and it paid off. Otherwise, I believe Instagram would have likely been a serious competitor to Facebook.

3. Create an accelerator program. Large companies can also innovate by housing startups in an accelerator program. Office space, mentoring and an amount of investment capital can be given to startups. In return, the large corporations take a percentage of equity in the young business. The startups have autonomy but are connected to the corporations, and if the startups become big, the large corporations can have favorable deals in addition to market growth and innovation. Disney is an example of a company with an accelerator program. Startups are given access to Disney's creativity, expertise and space and funding, and in return, Disney can help launch innovative products."

How Corporates manage their strategic role in the startups & innovation ecosystem?

Corporates collaborating with institutes of higher learning have been a long tradition. While this trend continues, a noticeable movement has started whereby corporates collaborate/partner with startups. These Corporate-startup partnerships are evolving rapidly in various structures, especially apparent in the technology-based sectors.

These sectors are driven by entrepreneurs/startups using modern technology to disrupt the norm, drive higher valuations and ROI, and deliver innovative products and services.

The Corporate-startup partnerships also raise an all-important question for the Corporates on "How Corporates manage their strategic role in the startups & innovation ecosystem?"
