At the committee meeting on 9 June 2026, KLN Logistics (Hong Kong) Limited executives Cruz Zhu, General Manager of Electronics Technology & Industrial, and Patrick Liu, Lead Product Manager of Global IT, shared insights on how Hong Kong logistics companies can harness data, AI and SaaS to move beyond manual, paper-based operations and capture Greater Bay Area opportunities.

They framed AI as the destination, data as the fuel and SaaS as the vehicle, showing how clean, connected data unlocks visibility and enbales smarter decision-making rather than purely cost cutting.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where the speakers addressed common concerns among SMEs, including setup and onboarding costs for smaller operators as well as how data security is managed in modern cloud and integration architectures.

Qianhai has firmly established itself as a powerhouse for modern services and strategic emerging technologies in the GBA.

Yesterday, our Chamber's geographical committees had the privilege of bringing members to Qianhai for a fruitful day, with the full support of the Qianhai Authority.

A notable highlight of the itinerary was that the entire tour was conducted in English. This allowed our foreign enterprise members to engage directly and connect with local leaders, without interpretation devices.

We started with insightful discussion on the collaboration opportunities emerging in this new cross-border era, driven by the joint efforts of GBA cities and the exciting “Shenzhen-Hong Kong Tech Collaboration 2.0” initiatives, led by Ms Wen Ping, Deputy Director-General of the Qianhai Authority.

The delegation then visited several enterprises at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub (E-hub). Witnessing first-hand the cutting-edge developments in AI, life sciences, and cultural and sports technology firsthand was truly inspiring. The facility clearly demonstrates its vital role as a premier destination for young professionals pursuing innovation and entrepreneurship.

We concluded the afternoon with visits to WeBank and HSBC Qianhai. At WeBank, members studied the future of finance through the company’s digital banking model tailored for MSMEs, while HSBC Qianhai showcased its pioneering joint-venture securities company supplementing CEPA between Hong Kong and the mainland.

Positioned as one of the most Hong Kong-like cities on Chinese mainland, Qianhai embodies the synergy of cross-border development. It continues to play an important role in facilitating the expansion of Hong Kong and international businesses into the mainland market.

A massive thank you to everyone who joined us and to our hosts for an unforgettable visit!

Business connections are often built beyond the meeting room.

HKGCC Young Executives Club (YEC) and Student Associate Club (SAC) recently came together for an evening of golf simulation and networking, creating a relaxed setting for young executives and students to connect outside a formal business environment.

The evening offered participants an opportunity to exchange ideas, expand their professional networks, and build relationships across different stages of their career journey. For YEC members, it was a chance to engage with the next generation of young talent, while SAC members gained valuable exposure to interact with working professionals and the wider business community.

Beyond the game itself, the event encouraged participants to reconnect with familiar faces and start new conversations in an energetic and informal setting.

We look forward to creating more opportunities for young executives and student associates to connect, exchange and grow together.

Our Chamber is thrilled to announce the signing of another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Council Member Jeffrey Lam and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan (CCIU), during the high-level business delegation to Central Asia led by Chief Executive John Lee.

Discussions on potential areas of cooperation with Uzbekistan started on 10 March, when H.E. Farhod Arziev, Ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan to China, visited our Chamber. These dialogues continued through various in-person and virtual meetings with regional governors, the Embassy, and the CCIU. This momentum was further strengthened during the CCIU’s visit to Hong Kong from 4 to 7 May, which coincided with the official visit of Abdulla Aripov, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Through this MoU, HKGCC and the CCIU are proud to establish the joint Uzbekistan-Hong Kong Business Council. This initiative aims to create a structured platform for dialogue and partnership between the business communities of both regions, with the aim of solidifying bilateral trade, industrial cooperation, and investment relations.

Following the launch of the Business Council, both sides will closely together to organise business meetings, hosting knowledge-sharing sessions, and exploring trade mission opportunities. For Hong Kong enterprises, this MoU serves as an actionable roadmap for market entry, diversification, and sustained growth.

Stay tuned!

165 Years of Legacy, Powered by Our Incredible Team!

This past week has been a purposeful one for the Chamber, as we came together to announce our new Chairman at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and celebrate our 165th anniversary.

While the AGM was an important opportunity to reflect on the past year and set our future direction, the Anniversary Ball served as a meaningful occasion to mark our progress and legacy - made possible by the dedication and hard work of our staff.

In the lead-up to the ball, last Friday saw the HKGCC leadership and staff come together for our 165th Anniversary Breakfast Celebration to honour the zeal and commitment of the team that drive our collective success.

While we proudly celebrate over a century and a half as the leading voice of business in Hong Kong, this milestone is, above all, a tribute to the talented people behind the Chamber. From our senior leadership to our promising young talents and interns, it is our collective effort and resolve that power our mission forward every day.

The morning was filled with great conversations, a traditional cake-cutting ceremony, and the distribution of celebratory anniversary red packets. Seeing colleagues across all divisions connecting, sharing smiles, and celebrating together was a powerful reminder of our strong organisational culture and shared vision.

A huge thank you to every member of the HKGCC staff for your work ethic, resilience, and passion. You are the true engine behind our 165-year legacy, and together, we will continue to shape a prosperous future for Hong Kong's business community!
