📌 Recently, the Cambodia Jewelers Association (COA), the Cambodia Jewelers Federation (CJF), the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), and the Hong Kong Business Association of Cambodia (HKBAC) signed three Memorandums of Understanding at a ceremony in Phnom Penh, establishing a framework for trade promotion, business matching, and cross-border investment facilitation.

The agreements focus on the jewelry industry, trade exhibitions, and international market access, reflecting the growing interest of both sides in sector-specific cooperation. The HKTDC also announced the establishment of a new advisory office in Phnom Penh to provide business connections, exhibition opportunities, and market guidance for enterprises.

🇭🇰🌏 Cambodia’s Secretary of State Attends Asian Financial Forum 2026

On January 26, His Excellency LIM Lork Piseth, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, attended the Asian Financial Forum 2026 held in Hong Kong. The forum was presided over by H.E. John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, and attracted around 4,000 participants from 60 countries, including senior government officials, business leaders, experts, and representatives of major international financial institutions.

📌 The forum, held from January 26–27, focused on the global economy, international trade, the financial sector, and recent geopolitical developments, aiming to promote cooperation and integration in finance, economics, and trade.

🤝 During the event, H.E. LIM Lork Piseth also joined a working lunch with H.E. Paul Chan, Financial Secretary of Hong Kong SAR, Dr. Peter Lam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board and former Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, and H.E. Christopher Hui, Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of Hong Kong SAR, to further strengthen Cambodia–Hong Kong relations and promote trade cooperation.

The Cambodian government has announced that from June 15 to October 15, 2026, Chinese citizens will be able to enter Cambodia visa-free. Holders of passports from the People’s Republic of China (including Hong Kong and Macau) will enjoy a 14-day stay with multiple entries allowed during the period, without the need to apply for a visa or pay related fees.

📈 Data shows that in the first ten months of 2025, Cambodia welcomed around 4.8 million international visitors, nearly 1 million of whom were from China. The introduction of the visa-free policy coincides with China’s summer travel peak, which is expected to significantly boost travel interest while reducing costs (previous visa fees were about USD 30–35).

🌟 Industry experts believe this new measure will enhance Cambodia’s tourism competitiveness in Southeast Asia and make it easier for potential investors to visit. The Ministry of Tourism has also called on industry associations and media outlets to actively promote Cambodia’s tourism and investment potential, welcoming more Chinese tourists and investors.

好消息！截至2025年，西哈努克經濟特區已有 217家企業入駐，其中去年新增了20家。該特區由柬中企業共同投資建設，正逐步成為柬埔寨最國際化的工業中心。

Good news! By 2025, the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone had welcomed 217 enterprises, including 20 new ones last year. Jointly invested and built by Cambodian and Chinese companies, the SSEZ is steadily becoming Cambodia’s most international industrial hub.
