Thanks to the British Council Hong Kong Council for inviting us to this evening's cocktail reception to celebrate their 75th year in Hong Kong! The Council has been a great partner of our company, and we, represented by our director 黃志安 Michael C Wong, are delighted to attend this special occasion. Congratulations also on the launch of Alumni UK — the Council's global networking platform for UK alumni. 為青協擔任演講比賽評判已不知多少年，而每一年的青年參賽者的表現都令我十分欣賞。今年由於新一波疫情，比賽再度要以短片錄影形式進行，但無阻同學踴躍參與。究竟當中又有哪些能夠過關？我期待一一點評！ ️‍🔍

I have forgotten how many years I have served as adjudicator for the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups' annual public speaking contest. Each time, the young contestants always impress me with their performance. Due to the current wave of COVID in town, the speeches will again have to be presented in the format of short videos. Yet, there is still a high number of entries. Which of them might make it through to the next stage? I look forward to evaluating the videos and giving my judgement! ️

Throwback to the Oxford forum in November where our director Michael hosted different experts, including keynote speaker Prof Andreas Schleicher (Director for Education & Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the OECD) who joined in all the way from Paris!

在早前的牛津論壇期間，我所得的另一個特別經驗是能夠主持由經濟合作暨發展組織（OECD）教育與技能總監兼教育政策特別顧問Andreas Schleicher教授任主講嘉賓的網上講座。Schleicher教授從巴黎舉行現場直播，為我們描繪未來教育的發展情景，觀衆也熱烈提問。這是我首次與經合組織的高層正面交流，幸好也不負重任！

During the recent OUP forum, one other special experience that I gained was hosting the webinar by Prof Andreas Schleicher, Director for Education & Skills, and Special Advisor on Education Policy to the Secretary-General at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation & Development (OECD). Joining us live from Paris, Prof Schleicher depicted the 'Scenarios for the Future of Education', and answered questions from the enthusiastic audience. This is the first time I directly interacted with a senior management staff of OECD, but fortunately I got the job done with success!

上周末我在牛津大學出版社（中國）教育領袖論壇期間主持的其中一場主題研討會，有幸迎來牛津大學教育系的Heath Rose教授作爲演講嘉賓，並和他對話交流。Rose教授是應用語言學家，為當日的網上觀衆講了有關全球化和21世紀英語教學的精彩一課。我很自豪能負責歡迎這位我們牛津自家的學者，並聽他分享其專家見解。

During OUP China's education leadership forum last weekend, I had the pleasure of welcoming and having a dialogue with Prof Heath Rose from the University of Oxford's Department of Education, who specialises in Applied Linguistics and gave a keynote webinar on the topic of globalisation and English language teaching in the 21st century. I'm so proud to be able to host our very own scholar from Oxford and listen to his expert insights.
