What started as a shared vision evolved into an exchange of ideas between The Henderson, Messina, Social Goods, and reEDIT. Each brought a distinct perspective, bound by a collective appetite for creativity, innovation, and thoughtful design.

In our collaboration with reEDIT LAB, sustainability became something tangible and playful, transforming recycled materials into a contemporary expression of tradition. We also co-created with Gelato Messina and Social Goods Modern Bakery to reinterpret familiar flavours with an unexpected twist.

Together, these ideas unfolded seamlessly at The Henderson, a landmark defined by innovation, craftsmanship, and sustainability that go beyond the expected. More than a seasonal moment, it reflects The Henderson’s commitment to bringing together like-minded partners and creating meaningful moments for our tenant community.

Rooted in the striking duality between Hong Kong’s vibrant urban energy and its greener natural surroundings, Michaela Mertlová of acclaimed artisan house , molds glass into a living medium with two grand installations that weave the spirit of the city into the architectural philosophy of The Henderson.

The first outdoor kinetic work ever created by Lasvit, Breeze is a motorised light installation made up of 144 oval fixtures swinging in pendulum motion. Beneath the stainless steel footbridge of The Henderson, dancing lights sway like grass in the wind as Mertlová borrows from natural phenomena within the urban context.

Look up from the grand lobby and you’ll find Mertlová’s second work quite literally In Bloom. Inspired by Hong Kong’s prized bauhinia and fused with the dragonfly as a local symbol of wisdom, hundreds of fragmented glass wings flicker with life as they shower cascading petals of light onto everything around them.

“Design philosophy of The Henderson was a very natural framework for us. It is not just a decoration as a part of the building’s identity. When people move through it every day, people gradually create a relationship with it. It has a very big meaning for me when it becomes a part of life for the people.”

Petroc Sesti’s Anatomy of Time reimagines the black hole as a liquid vortex suspended within a giant bell jar. Its shape, inspired to echo the fluid lines and glazed surfaces that define the architectural language of The Henderson. Standing at 3 metres tall, it exists as the largest liquid sculpture of its kind.

“In physics, if you get close to a gravitational body like a black hole, it has a spin, but as you get closer to it, time actually slows down, and when you get right up to it, time then actually stops.”

A cosmic meditation on transience engaged with the principles of Qi, this is a structure in perpetual motion that reframes its architectural surroundings through distortion and inversion. Its intention, to transcend conventional boundaries and invite reflection on the philosophical notions of the void, permanence, movement and time.

Patrik Schumacher, principal of ZHA reflects on his design philosophy behind The Henderson. It stands as a landmark alive with its own organic pulse, representing a masterpiece realised through global collaboration.

State-of-the-art engineering synergises with world-class artistry to encapsulate the elements at play in tribute to the organic principles at the core of The Henderson’s design language. A foundation from which each curve, contour, texture and touch simulates space at its most unconstrained, creating an experience unique to its kind, shaped by connection, collaboration and creative expression.

“This is a collaborative process which involves engineers, designers, specialist engineers, and The Henderson of course, deeply involved all along, because it had to be meeting the highest expectation. This wouldn’t have been possible a few decades ago.”

Crowned World’s Best Property, The Henderson marks a new epoch of architecture defined by technical innovation and collective mastery, driven by a shared pursuit of excellence without limitation.

Known for her computational thinking and minimal style, Europe-based Hong Kong artist Carla Chan fuses nature with technology and reality with illusion in her latest video installation “Between Illuminated Horizons”, created for and inspired by The Henderson.

“I would like people to feel having a moment to sink down, you can give into this daydreaming zone that you actually have a moment between your inner self.”

Channeling Zaha Hadid’s fluid, reflective architecture designed to mirror the elements at play above the skyline, Carla draws nature deeper within the walls of The Henderson. Here, four atmospheric sequences unfold in tandem with the ascent of each elevator, as an everyday urban motion is reimagined as a dreamy, meditative encounter with untamed nature.

Discover more about Carla’s inspirations in this video and step into this ethereal, Art Month special digital art installation “Between Illuminated Horizons” at The Henderson.

This March, artistry bloomed early at The Henderson. 🌸

For three days only, we invited our tenant community to experience Cj Hendry’s iconic Flower Shop pop-up in our Sky Garden—a vibrant sea of plush flowers, brought to life just for them.

While the blooms were enjoyed within our building, the heart of the collaboration reached much further. A portion of proceeds from this exclusive pop-up was donated to , turning every stem into a gesture of hope for Hong Kong’s children. 💛

Art can be intimate, but impact is shared. Thank you to everyone who helped make wishes come true—whether you visited us or simply cheered from afar.

Between the city and the sky lies a realm of dreamy contemplation. An ephemeral space where light plays a symphony as it fuses with the vibrant energy of the ever-shifting atmosphere, creating a spectacle reminiscent of gliding through weightless space amidst luminous occurrences.

Between Illuminated Horizons, Carlac blurs the boundaries between reality and illusion, figure and abstraction, interior and exterior. Nature and technology become one as atmospheric elements are drawn inward to create a virtual space for contemplation. A place to ponder among the perpetual flux of sun-kissed mornings, drifting cloudscapes and the enigmatic whispers of dusk, as we ascend through the heart of The Henderson.

This Art Month, experience the digital art ‘Between Illuminated Horizons’ with Carla Chan at The Henderson.
