Overview
This program focuses on the “Practical Aspects of Dry Cargo Chartering”. Moving quickly from theory, we will discuss the key clauses of the time and voyage charter-parties, significance of the wordings agreed, the case law and care required right from the beginning to minimize the possibility of conflicts in the clauses and disputes with our clients. We will also conduct a real-life evaluation of a 3-year contract of affreightment considering the risk elements involved, physical and/or derivatives hedging of time charter rates and bunkers, and most importantly - working within the constraints of Basis Risk and Liquidity. Finally, we will look at the ex*****on strategies.
