‘The Collectible Art Fair’, is co-presented between The Hong Kong Arts School Alumni Network and The Hong Kong Arts Centre.

More than 200 alumni and artists were recruited to participate in this group exhibition. Over 300 pieces of artwork from paintings, prints, photography, sculptures, furniture, potteries to art installations, etc were exhibited over 3 floors at the HK Arts Centre.

We were pleased to be invited as the lighting consultant to oversee the lighting for the entire exhibition. The real challenge was how to light up all the artwork in different media, different sizes, different formats, different materials, and yet to give the exhibition a cohesive experience?

Our solution was simple. Carefully selected spotlights with different beam angles were employed for different sizes or different media of artwork. Accurate focusing and proper adjusting the lighting intensity of the spotlights against the different reflections from the different artwork made a well balance of the lighting throughout the exhibition. Downplaying the transitional areas further made all the artwork stand proud on their own.

The end result was an enjoyable visual experience and an exhibition of international standard.

‘God of Teppanyaki’ is one of the largest teppanyaki restaurants in Hong Kong. It is consisted of a sake bar, a sake tasting room, a sushi counter, several small private teppanyaki rooms, and two large private teppanyaki rooms of which their adjoining sliding panels can be opened to accommodate a maximum seating of 30 guests.

Since it’s located in a small shopping mall, the lighting at the shop front plays a very important part to attract guests and to leave memorable experiences when entering to the restaurant for the first time. Built-in mini uplights on the sake bar countertop to light up sake glasses through their bottoms become an attraction for guests to appreciate and compare different makes of sake. The combination of natural daylight and artificial washlight to the Japanese-designed screen and sliding doors in the corridor gives a strong character to the restaurant whereas the special lighting to the oversized Japanese umbrella ceilings in the large private teppanyaki rooms becomes a signature design of the restaurant.

We are very pleased with the well-orchestrated lighting in the restaurant and are extremely happy to be voted as the sole winner under the Lighting Category of the Restaurant and Bar Design Awards 2022 in UK.

Nestled in the heart of Ginza, one of Tokyo's most luxurious districts, shopping mall, which opened in 2014, set the city abuzz.

The building's lighting design is unique and innovative. A warm and inviting atmosphere is created at the entrance with a lightbox that draws people in, followed by a logo design that complements the overall aesthetic. A shadow box with a color temperature of 3000K highlights the architectural structure and adds to its visual appeal. On the seventh and tenth levels, the window frames change colors dynamically every month with colour changing RGB lights,, evoking the beauty of Japan's blooming flowers.
The structure boasts a vast open terrace that spans from the fourth to the sixth floor, providing a perfect place for urban dwellers to relax and unwind. The open terrace is illuminated with downlights, creating a vibrant and lively atmosphere; while the lower-level tree is illuminated from below, enhancing its beauty and charm.

Located in the heart of Wanchai, the 2 restaurants operated by &b offer a seamless fusion of contemporary interpretations of classic cuisine and exquisite interiors, creating a harmonious blend of fine dining and elegant décor.

Located on the second floor, offers guests a variety of spaces to enjoy their dining experience. The establishment boasts a cozy drinking area, a spacious dining area, and five private dining rooms equipped with karaoke systems. The interior is exquisitely decorated with intricate Chinoiserie wall coverings that complement the predominant use of dark wood throughout the space. The lighting design is thoughtfully crafted to enhance the presentation of the food and the dining tables, while the subtle ambient lighting creates an intimate atmosphere for diners.

Located in the heart of Wanchai, the restaurant at W Square offer a seamless fusion of contemporary interpretations of classic cuisine and exquisite interiors, creating a harmonious blend of fine dining and elegant décor.

Situated on the first floor, boasts a design and offers distinct dining areas for guests to savor their yakitori, omakase, and kappou dishes.

The restaurant's heart-shaped bar top is a striking centerpiece, featuring captivating color-changing RGB lights and luminous marble that create a sensory and emotional experience. Furthermore, the LED strip beneath the table accentuates the bar's unique shape.

At the casual dining area, high-power LED lighting accentuates the beauty of sakura-themed wall coverings, adding a touch of romanticism for diners.

The sushi bar, which serves omakase, is illuminated with minimal lighting to highlight the diners' table and the architectural details of the space.
