𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝐋𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐥 & 𝐂𝐃𝐄 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐳𝐡𝐞𝐧

As China advances its Digital China strategy, digital transformation has become a key driver of high-quality development in the engineering and construction industry. Technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Twins, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are accelerating industry digitization. Amid this transformation, the Common Data Environment (CDE)—a fundamental concept for unified BIM data management and collaborative sharing—has become increasingly crucial in supporting the industry's global digital transformation.

To enhance CDE adoption in China and promote international knowledge exchange, the Chinese Society of Graphics BIM Committee (中國圖學學會建築信息模型專業委員會) and buildingSMART China—the official branch of the internationally recognized BIM standards organization buildingSMART—co-hosted the 14th BIM Lecture Hall & CDE Conference (第十四期BIM大講堂暨通用數據環境(CDE)大會) on 23 March 2025 in Shenzhen.

The event brought together government officials, industry experts, business leaders and technology providers. With a global outlook and cutting-edge practical insights, discussions focused on the fundamental concepts, technological applications, standards development and real-world case studies of CDE.

During the event, Mr. David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D., delivered a presentation on the topic: IM-CDE: Complete Information Lifecycle Management.

𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 – 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Organized by buildingSMART Singapore, buildingSMART International Summit – Singapore 2025 was successfully held on 18 to 20 March at Singapore EXPO. The summit commenced with an opening ceremony, followed by plenary sessions featuring key topics: Mandating openBIM, openBIM for You, Collaborate and Inspire. On both Day 2 and Day 3, domain sessions explored recent advancements in different industries. Additionally, the PCERT courses and exams were conducted for professionals seeking certification. Some discussions on latest advancements in buildingSMART standards and global industry trends that are shaping the future of openBIM and digital collaboration was held on the final day. A session showcased real-world case studies and digital solutions demonstrating the successful implementation of buildingSMART standards and digital best practices in Singapore’s built environment and globally before the Closing Plenary.

Professionals from various disciplines within the built environment attended the event to enhance their knowledge and expand their professional networks. Mr David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D. and HKABAEIMA BSI Committee Chair, was also a participant in the summit.

On 6 January 2025, CIC has organized an appreciation lunch for the assessment panels of the CIC BIM Certification and Accreditation Schemes (BIMCAS) as tokens of appreciation on their supports and efforts. The event was held at MegaBox, Kowloon Bay. Mr David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D. was invited and joined.

𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐆𝐈𝐒 𝐢𝐧 𝐐𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐢

Co-organized by buildingSMART China, buildingSMART Hong Kong, China, and HKABAEIMA, the Seminar on openBIM and openGIS was held on 24 September 2024 at the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub.

Industry leaders and government officials from Hong Kong and China shared their insights and experiences with participants in the morning session. In the afternoon session, there were three topics on openBIM and openGIS for discussion.

A presentation ceremony was also held during the event. A.C.I.D. is honored to be granted the right to use the Qianhai Shenzhen-Hong Kong Youth Innovation and Entrepreneur Hub as our CCBM (CIC-Certified BIM Manager) course and CCBC (CIC-Certified BIM Coordinator) course teaching venue in the Greater Bay Area. Mr. David Fung represented our company at the ceremony.

𝐇𝐊𝐈𝐀 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 “𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐁𝐈𝐌?”

The Hong Kong Institute of Architects organized a seminar titled “Why openBIM?” on 8 July 2024, which was conducted both face-to-face and via Zoom. The seminar aimed to explore the world of openBIM, delving into its key concepts and advantages. It shed light on the transformative potential of openBIM for the architecture sector and shared insights, practical examples and success stories of openBIM implementation in real-world projects in Hong Kong and beyond.

Mr. David Fung, Managing Director of A.C.I.D., was one of the speakers at the event.

𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐒𝐌𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 – 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒

The buildingSMART International – Asia Summit 2024, hosted by HKABAEIMA and buildingSMART Hong Kong, China Chapter, was successfully held at Crowne Plaza Hong Kong Kowloon East on 17 and 18 June 2024. The summit was themed “Accelerating openBIM adoption for Smart Cities and Sustainability.”

The event featured a host of world-class leaders, including buildingSMART International’s Global Leaders, overseas, mainland, and local experts, as well as government officials from diverse economies. These esteemed individuals shared their insights and experiences with the participants.

Throughout the two-day event, attendees had the opportunity to participate in Masterclasses, which provided valuable insights into improving project quality and leveraging openBIM technologies for better collaboration and efficiency in the construction industry.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐈𝐌 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲

The International Conference on BIM Technology, one of the largest annual BIM events in Mainland China, was successfully conducted in Hong Kong this year with the theme “Empower Construction Digitalisation and Smart City Management with BIM”. The event took place on May 30 and 31 at the Hong Kong Ocean Park Marriott Hotel. With two days of live presentations and technical visits, it provided a unique platform for global industry leaders, stakeholders and scholars to share and explore the latest advancements in the construction industry.

A.C.I.D. was one of the sponsors of the event, and our Managing Director, Mr David Fung, also delivered a presentation titled “From Construction to Operation.”

Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2024 Final Presentation

To recognize best practices and innovations of openBIM and/or openGIS applications in project delivery and/or lifecycle asset management in the built asset industry in Hong Kong, HKABAEIMA and the Hong Kong Chapter of buildingSMART International are launching the Hong Kong openBIM/openGIS Awards 2024. The final presentation of the competition was held on 7 May 2024 at CIC Zero Carbon Park. There were altogether 21 shortlisted teams and presentations in three categories of submission: (1) Project Category; (2) Research Category, and (3) Technology Category.

Mr David Fung was the judging panel member of the competition.

Hong Kong Construction Common Data Environment Award 2023 Launching Ceremony

To recognise outstanding projects and organisations that best utilise Common Data Environment (CDE) to improve project management, collaboration, productivity, sustainability; and to share the awardees’ experiences on utilising CDE for digital collaboration with the industry, Development Bureau and Construction Industry Council continues to co-organise Hong Kong Construction Common Data Environment Award. Launching ceremony of the event has been held on 16 May 2023 at CIC-Zero Carbon Park to announce the details.

HKIBIM BIM Automation Arena 2023 was held on 31 March 2023 at OVC, The Arcade, Cyberport. Finalists from different categories including Visual Programming, Application Programming Interface/ Plugin and Software Applications made their presentations during the event. IM-CDE : Cloud, Mobile and Metaverse from A.C.I.D. awarded Gold Prize in the Software Applications (Standalone/SaaS) – Corporation category and Best User Experience Award – Corporation.
