Recruitment Consultant
Recruitment is a multi-billlion dollar global industry. And being a small Hong Kong founded business, Head Start Asia still has a long way to go on its journey which only started a couple of years ago. Our vision is for all our Recruitment Consultants to use the resources and training available to them to successfully assist Clients in filling openings and Candidates in securing roles through long-term partnerships, openness and honest conversations.
As a Recruitment Consultant, a typical day might include the following:
• Fielding incoming phone calls from candidates responding to Job Ads or returning messages to discuss their suitability for a role;
• Arranging candidate interviews with clients – trying to fit everyone in with people’s busy schedules;
• Scouring internal and external databases for suitable candidates to your portfolio of open mandates;
• Calling Clients, new and old, to discuss their recruitment requirements and share with them the vision of Head Start Asia;
• Taking detailed job briefs from Clients so you can start sharing the role with your candidates;
• Using your creativity to write captivating job ads and posting them on various websites and social media channels;
• Meeting candidates to gain a first-hand understanding of their experience, personality and what they are looking for in their next role;
• Having a coffee with a Candidate to discuss an offer you secured for them and to answer any remaining queries they may have;
• Doing the boring administrative paperwork as well as updating our internal databases;
• Finish the day with a glass of wine or two at a networking event expanding your contacts in the field and building on existing relationships;
This job might be for you if:
You love a challenge. Our industry exists for a reason and the reason is that roles are generally hard to fill and candidates are difficult to identify. Our Consultants are gritty, plucky, resourceful and work intelligently to solve problems.
You think on your feet. You like learning new things and you learn quickly. When things change (almost every day) you know how to roll with the punches.
You are good at juggling your time and prioritising a constantly changing TO-DO list
You communicate clearly. You write well. You speak eloquently.
You can explain just about anything to anyone and you are comfortable communicating in writing and on the phone.
You are motivated and driven. This industry is super competitive, and your drive is key to beating the competition.
To be successful in your application you need to have a year or two of work experience under your belt and can show you are comfortable in talking to people.
