Presence Decides How Far You Go: Recap of Session 2, KOS × ACCA Webinar Series

Two managers. Same title. Same day promoted. Six years later, one is a Director, one is still a Manager.
Same company. Same opportunities. Same market.
The difference? Presence.

On May 21, KOS Solutions and ACCA held Session 2 of the "Professional Influence Advancement" webinar series, "High-Impact Communication: Taking Control of Every Key Conversation," led by Jimmy Pang.

Here are three key takeaways worth revisiting:
🔸 Your presence is judged before you speak
First impressions form in 7 to 10 seconds. In that window, no one can evaluate your skills or track record. They can only read what they see, hear, and feel about you. Once formed, that impression is very difficult to change.
🔸 Presence is a system, not a personality trait
Presence is not something you are born with. It is built from every signal you send, consciously or not, across 8 building blocks: from how you appear, to how you carry yourself, to how you connect with others.
🔸 Your first sentence is the lens you want others to see
The words you choose do more than convey information. They signal your professionalism, communicate respect, and position you as either decisive or uncertain. Your opening sentence sets the frame for how everything after it is received.

The Q&A session sparked honest conversations on navigating conflict in real time, recovering from a weak first impression, and building authority with different people. These reflections lead naturally into our final session: "Strategic Relationship Building: Create a Sustainable Professional Network"

We will further explore how to identify your key stakeholders, make introductions that open doors, and build a follow-up system that keeps relationships alive long term.

🤔 Why are so many professionals feeling more anxious even when they're still employed?

Today’s career anxiety often isn't about losing a job overnight. It comes from something more subtle: you’re still in your role, but you’re no longer sure whether your value is still growing.

Today, more organizations are evaluating people based on their range of skills and ability to adapt. In other words, the market is no longer just placing value on your industry or your role. It increasingly comes down to whether you can:
• transfer your skills across contexts
• work effectively with emerging technologies
• turn domain expertise into measurable business outcomes
• keep learning and adapting as the environment changes

That’s why so many people aren’t asking, "Will I lose my job tomorrow?" They're asking something deeper: "If the market keeps shifting, will the skills I rely on still hold their value?"

So perhaps the real question for 2026 isn’t, "What role is safe?" It’s, "What capabilities will remain valuable as the rules keep changing?"

📊 KOS’s 2026 Mainland China Talent Trends Report explores this shift across 11 sectors and highlights the key hiring signals from 2025 that will shape talent demand in 2026.

Ask KOS|Can Introverted Tech People Still Become Leaders?

We often hear talented tech professionals say: "I’m too quiet. I’m not a 'people person'. I can't be a leader."

This belief often stops brilliant engineers from stepping up, but leadership isn't about being the loudest voice in the room.

In our latest episode, our Technology Senior Manager, Bonnie Chan shares why introverted Tech people can absolutely become great leaders, what strengths they already have, and 2 simple ways to start building leadership visibility inside their team.

🚀 Credibility Is the Quiet Currency of Career Growth: Recap of the KOS × ACCA Webinar Series

On April 23, KOS Solutions and ACCA successfully launched the first session of our online webinar series, "Professional Influence Advancement," welcoming an inspiring turnout of professionals across the region. 🌟

The opening session, "Building Credibility: Projecting a Clear and Compelling Professional Image," was led by Jimmy Pang, who shared how today's professionals can shape a presence that earns trust and unlocks greater opportunity.

Here are three key takeaways worth revisiting:
✨ Credibility = Competence × Reliability
Technical skills may open doors, but trust determines how much responsibility and opportunity others are willing to entrust to you. A "Strong Credibility" professional balances solid technical skills with consistent, trust-building communication that wins over stakeholders.

✨ Trust is built in the everyday details
Meeting communication, email correspondence, cross-department collaboration, stress management, and consistent delivery of commitments all shape others' judgment of your professionalism and reliability.

✨ Clear, efficient communication is the foundation of trust
Those who express ideas clearly, stay calm and composed, grasp key points quickly, deliver valuable insights and align with business needs are more likely to be seen as dependable. This helps build credibility and unlock greater career development opportunities.

The Q&A session sparked thoughtful conversations on topics such as simplifying complex issues, navigating cross-functional KPI alignment, and stepping into strategic decision-making conversations with senior leadership. 💬

These reflections lead naturally into our next session: "High-Impact Communication: Taking Control of Every Key Conversation"

We will explore how professionals master the critical first 7 to 10 seconds, adapt to different communication styles, and move confidently from small talk to meaningful conversation.
