In addition to the visa-free travel announced in July this year, this week Last week, Slovakia, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Andorra, Monaco, Liechtenstein, and South Korea all learnt they had visa-free travel to China.
This will make it considerably easier for tourists and short-term business travellers who can now simply arrive in the country without having to go through the rather arduous process of applying for a Chinese visa. This is good news for the many hotels & resorts that were opened in the past 20-odd years. In China's 30 years march to become a developed nation, 3 years of lockdown was just a blip.
The rise of a thriving middle-income group and the easing of travel restrictions for Chinese citizens and foreign visitors have contributed to the rapid growth of both inbound and outbound tourism.
