May has been good to me.

It has taken me from a botanical garden in the Mexican desert to a cloud forest reserve in the Ecuadorian Chocó Andes. Two completely different worlds connected by one thing: the journey.

Like every transition, it has come with its share of stress. Projects put on hold, goodbyes and thank yous once again, stepping into a new environment, and facing the uncertainty that comes with change. Anxiety, excitement, fear, and anticipation all seem to travel together.

There have been airport problems, check-in issues, immigration delays, missed plans, and plenty of unexpected moments along the way. Just another chapter of life on the road.

What May has taught me more than anything is how to stay calm within the chaos.

I don’t have the luxury of not worrying about where money comes from. There is no guaranteed comfort waiting for me. Every step requires faith, hard work, and determination. But something unexpected happened this month.

I never realized how many people truly valued what I do, or what I’m trying to do.

The messages, support, encouragement, and people who have shown up when I needed it most have not gone unnoticed. Your belief in me means more than you know.

This journey isn’t always easy. It isn’t always comfortable. But it continues to remind me that there are good people everywhere, and for that I am grateful.

Crashing my drone felt disastrous at first and honestly really disappointing… but it also may have been one of the best things to happen. Here’s 5 reasons why:

1. It gave me more time to slow down, study the scenery, and map out better routes, shots, and film ideas.

2. It showed me how many of you genuinely cared. The messages didn’t go unnoticed and honestly made me feel loved.

3. I now get an upgrade — better cinematography, more flight time, and true vertical filming. That’s exciting.

4. S**t happens. And for once, I accepted it without anger or frustration. Growth, right?

5. I realized I love filming and flying more than I thought… and I honestly can’t wait to get back up there filming this place again.

Another few weeks to go.

Another Waterfall, just 10 minutes away from the lodge.

Honestly there is a picture at every turn and it doesn’t matter the time of day or night.

Sitting here at watching the mist slowly roll through the trees and over the cloud forest peaks feels like scenes straight out of Predator, Apocalypse Now or Gorillas in the Mist. There’s something about cloud forests that feels ancient, wild and completely untouched. The atmosphere here is unreal.

What makes it even more exciting is knowing I’ll soon have a new drone in the air and hopefully a new camera in hand too. The potential for filming here feels endless. Some of these landscapes genuinely look cinematic already, now it’s about trying to capture those moments, mirror some of those legendary jungle scenes, and turn them into something original of my own.
