Today, we had the pleasure of handing over the spaceflown artwork of Albert Lรกszlรณ Art, which flew aboard our ๐—š๐—˜๐—ก-๐Ÿญ๐—ฃ demonstration mission and has now successfully completed its journey to space and back.

This unique artwork traveled beyond Earth, experienced microgravity conditions, and safely returned together with the recovered mission payloads following a successful launch, reentry, and recovery campaign.

A special thank you to Horvรกth Kรกroly (Walp Service Kft) and Gyula Gรกl of QualiRent Engineering Kft., whose support helped make this unique endeavor possible. We are also proud that the artwork will now continue its journey through a charity auction, helping to support a meaningful cause.

The visit included a mission debriefing, a presentation of the flight, and an opportunity to look back at the milestones that transformed an idea into a flown and recovered space artifact.

At Genesis, we believe that space is not only a destination for science and technology, but also a place for creativity, culture, and human expression.

๐Ÿš€ How does life respond to spaceflight?

Before launch, our team prepared and integrated the biological payloads for the GEN-1P mission.

Using infrared (IR) sensors, we monitored algae, fungi, and other samples in real time during microgravity, helping us better understand how life responds to spaceflight.

We also prepared the habitat for our tiny astronauts, fruit flies, which successfully traveled to space and returned safely to Earth. ๐Ÿชฐ

Every mission starts with careful preparation, and every sample has a story to tell.

๐Ÿš€ On Sunday, 31 May at 06:33 UTC, GEN-1p Demo Mission successfully launched from Esrange Space Center, Sweden.

The mission completed 420 sec of uninterrupted microgravity and successfully returned both active and passive payloads following atmospheric reentry.

Biological samples, artwork, and customer payloads were recovered, while hundreds of names from around the world flew aboard the GEN-1P onboard computer.

An exciting milestone for the development of our reusable reentry capsule platform.

Thank you to SSC Space for the ride to space.

More updates soon.

Not an ISS experiment, but our own unmanned microgravity research mission conducted aboard GEN-1P, reentry capsule.

Last Sunday, GEN-1P was launched into space from Esrange Space Center aboard an SSC Space sounding rocket, carrying active biological research payloads designed to study how living organisms respond to microgravity and spaceflight-related stress.

One of the onboard experiments hosted fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster), among the most important model organisms in life sciences. Around 75% of genes associated with human diseases are also found in fruit flies, making them highly valuable for genetics, aging, immune response, and space biology research.

Our team has now successfully recovered all payloads following atmospheric reentry, and we are currently downloading and analyzing the first onboard footage recorded during the mission.

Following recovery, our tiny astronauts were preserved for post-flight genetic analysis.

More onboard footage and mission updates coming soon.

This morning, Genesis Space Flight Laboratories successfully launched the GEN-1P demonstration mission from Esrange Space Center, Sweden.

The mission carried two active biological research modules designed to validate GEN reentry capsule subsystems during spaceflight and atmospheric reentry:

๐Ÿ”ฌ A microbiology research module monitored biomass and chlorophyll changes in algae and yeast samples in real time using 25 near infrared (NIR) sensors.

๐Ÿชฐ A microgravity insect habitat hosted fruit flies (Drosophila) for biological research under microgravity conditions.

The mission successfully completed its microgravity phase, and payload recovery operations are currently underway. Our team is now preparing for post flight sample handling, preservation, and analysis following payload return.

Recovered biological samples are expected to be shipped back to customers and research partners later this week.

This mission represents an important milestone for the development of the GEN reentry capsule platform and future autonomous biological research missions in space.

A big thank you to the SSC Space team for the support and ride to space.

More updates soon.

The countdown has officially started for the GEN-1P test launch.

Sooner than expected, our payload is now scheduled to launch this week from Esrange Space Center in Sweden, as confirmed by our launch provider, SSC Space.

This marks the debut mission of the GEN-1P capsule by Genesis Space Flight Laboratories and an important milestone for our reusable reentry capsule program.

For this mission, we are utilizing a 1U CubeSat slot instead of the PocketQube standard for which the GEN capsules were originally designed, allowing us to fly and test multiple subsystems and active microgravity payloads within a single launch.

Tomorrowโ€™s mission includes:

๐Ÿ”ฌ GEN-1P Research Rideshare Module
Featuring 25 biosamples monitored by NIR sensors to map changes in biomass and chlorophyll during spaceflight.

๐Ÿชฐ GEN-1P Microgravity Insect Habitat
Hosting fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster) in four divided compartments to study spaceflight-induced stress through RNA studies and behavioral analysis.

๐ŸŒฑ Additionally, smaller commercial items and passive payloads, including seeds from customers, were integrated into the mission. All names submitted to fly digitally aboard the mission have also been uploaded to the onboard computer.

During the mission, we will monitor system performance and record data throughout spaceflight and atmospheric reentry. Upon successful recovery, the flies will be preserved for future genetic studies and customer samples will be returned later this week.

A huge thank you to our technical team, management, investors, launch provider, partners, and subcontractors who helped make this mission possible.

15 hours. Then itโ€™s closed.

340 participants. 31 countries. One mission.

People from around the world are sending their name to space aboard our GEN reentry capsule.

Every name will fly. But three will receive a space-grade aluminum plate, engraved with their name, flown to space and returned to Earth.
