Having a Panamanian COC is important for seafarers wiling to extend their job opportunities since Panama has the largest registered fleet of ships in the world and Panama COC is worldwide recognized by other flag administrations.
According to new policy The Panama Maritime Authority do not cary out assessments and do not issue new Panama COC anymore, however, as per published circulars in force Panama will proceed with Renewals and Upgrades of Panama COC for those officers who’s already possess Panama COC and fullfil all requirements.

As the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the outbreak of the coronavirus COVID-19 a pandemic, it is vital that all governments remind that around 90% of global trade is transported by commercial shipping, which moves the world’s food,energy and commercial goods(among the medical supplies).

It is our intention to contribute to keep maritime trade moving this time of global crisis, in particular by facilitating the postponement-extension of all statutory certification, crew endorsement certificates, all survey services including ISM Code / ISPSCode audits and inspections related to MLC 2006, in addition this is also applicable to Annual Safety Inspection (ASI) established by Panama flag, this exceptional measures are taken essentially in response to the current shut-downs, lock downs, and travel restrictions, implemented by several States worldwide.
