With Pošip harvested last week, the season naturally turns toward Plavac Mali. The vineyards are active as our team hand‑selects clusters with the ideal balance of ripeness and acidity for Rosé production, capturing the varietal’s bright energy and coastal minerality. This shift into red fruit marks one of the most exciting points of harvest, as the cellar prepares for first press and the winery moves into full creation mode.

These early selections guide the new release of Penny Rosé 2025, a vintage we’re proud to bring forward. Stop by the winery to be among the first to taste it, and take in the harvest atmosphere and Adriatic Sea views from Reuben’s Restaurant & Seaside Terrace.

It’s mid‑August on the Pelješac Peninsula, and that can only mean one thing, Pošip harvest season has begun at Korta Katarina Winery. The vineyards wake early to the Adriatic breeze, the fruit is perfectly sun‑ripened, and our team is already hand‑selecting the first clusters of the new vintage.

The cellar is filling with bright aromatics of citrus, stone fruit, and that signature coastal minerality that defines Pelješac. Harvest here is a celebration of tradition, craftsmanship, and the land we love.

A Beautiful Start to Summer: Falstaff Honors Our Rosés

Today, we celebrate a significant milestone in the Korta Katarina Winery story.

In this year’s Falstaff Rosé Trophy, more than 850 rosé wines from across Europe were evaluated by the expert panel of Falstaff Magazine, one of the most respected authorities in the world of wine. Only a select group earned a place in the prestigious ‘Special Selection’.

With immense pride, we share that Rosé Penny has been awarded 93 points, and Classic Rosé 91 points, placing both among the highest rated rosés of the entire competition.

This achievement carries profound meaning for us. Korta Katarina was founded through the vision and generosity of Lee and Penny Anderson, whose love for Croatia and commitment to its people shaped the very soul of our winery. Their belief in the potential of Pelješac, its terroir, its heritage, and its future continues to guide every decision we make.

🍇 Rosé Penny, named in honor of Penny Anderson, reflects her elegance, warmth, and quiet strength. Crafted with a refined gastronomic sensibility, it represents a new stylistic chapter for our winery, one designed to stand confidently among the world’s most distinguished rosés. Its debut vintage earning 93 points from Falstaff is a powerful affirmation of that vision.

🍇 Classic Rosé, awarded 91 points, continues its thoughtful evolution. Brighter aromatics, expressive red fruit, and layers of citrus bring new precision and character while remaining true to the approachable Adriatic style that defines Korta Katarina.

We were delighted to welcome Sandra Lacković and the Hrvatska radiotelevizija - HRT Tourism show to Orebić this week. A special thank you as well to Mladen Đeldum from the Orebić Tourism Board for joining the visit and helping highlight the beauty and heritage of our region. And of course, gratitude to our very own Robert Tolj, whose passion and knowledge always bring our properties to life.
