MATIJA SMREKAR (08.04.1989),bivši igrač NK Varteksa,francuskog Sedana i belgijskog Charleroia,novi je igrač slovenskog prvaka NK MARIBORA.
Ugovor je potpisao do kraja sezone 2015 a u klubu ga vide ponajviše u vrhu napada.
"Konkurencija je velika ali i dobrodošla jer zahtjeva od mene da budem što bolji.Mnoge utakmice će se igrati u proljetnom dijelu sezone tako da ćemo svi dobiti priliku."-komentirao je Smrekar za slovenske medije.
Nove suigrače već je upoznao na prijašnjim zajedničkim treninzima. "Prvi dojmovi su odlični,ekipa me je lijepo primila.Svjestan sam kolika je čast igrati za Maribor i truditi ću se da vodstvo kluba bude zadovoljno sa mnom."-zaključio je Smrekar.
