CROATIA BECOMES THE FIRST EU COUNTRY TO ACQUIRE SUBARU BELL 412EPX HELICOPTERS! 🚁🇭🇷

🌍🩺The Ministry of Interior has added two state-of-the-art Subaru Bell 412EPX multipurpose helicopters to its fleet – making Croatia the first country in the EU to invest in this cutting-edge technology! These helicopters will enhance Civil Protection and HGSS rescue operations, as well as emergency medical flights

🛠️✈️As part of the project, Croatian pilots and technicians will undergo specialized training in Texas, USA, to ensure top-level preparedness for operating and maintaining these advanced helicopters

🚨💶The project is valued at €36.3 million (including VAT), with 85% co-financed by EU grants through the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development under the Operational Program Competitiveness and Cohesion

📍🚁With the capacity to carry 12 operatives or 2 patients, these helicopters will revolutionize life-saving operations. Deployment is planned for Zagreb and Dubrovnik by Summer 2025

UPCOMING LOBBYING REGULATION IN CROATIA 🇭🇷📝

📣A round table for the professional and academic public "Transparency of lobbying in public decision-making" was held today in Zagreb

🏛️Our CEO and President of the Croatian Lobbyists Association Ivan Žužul participated in the second panel, which discussed the potential effects of increasing transparency through legislation, i.e. to what extent it is possible to influence the removal of the stigma of lobbying as a negative or unfair activity through quality legislation in this area and stressed that all interested parties, including lobbyists, policymakers, and the public, must cooperate to strengthen transparency and accountability in the lobbying process

💡The discussion was interesting and open, in which different experiences and proposals were exchanged on how to make the regulation of lobbying even better

1️⃣ The Parliament confirmed Damir Habijan as the new Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development with 77 votes in favor, 35 against and 1 sustained. Before entering the , Habijan worked for 13 years as a lawyer and specialized in the field of and commercial law and in cases related to and credit institutions. As MP, Habijan served as member of the Legislation Committee, member of the Constitution, Rules of Procedure and Political System Committee, member of the Judiciary Committee, member of the Economy Committee and vice president of the National Council for Monitoring the Implementation of the Anti-Corruption Strategy 🤝🏛

2️⃣ After the agreement reached by the European Parliament and the Council on the amendments to the TEN-T Regulation, Croatia, in addition to the two already existing transport corridors (the Mediterranean corridor and the Rhine - Danube corridor), will be additionally positioned on two more - the Baltic Sea - the Adriatic Sea and the Western Balkans - Eastern Mediterranean. This morning, a Policy Breakfast was held in the organization of the Croatian Lobbyists Society, where the Minister of Justice and Administration Ivan Malenica detailed the regulatory solution for lobbying in the Republic of Croatia 🏛️⚖️

1️⃣ In the proposal of the new , planned revenues amount to EUR 28.5 billion, and expenditures to EUR 32.6 billion. Despite the growth of public debt, it is expected that the share of public debt in GDP will continue to decrease and that the criteria will be met next year (decrease from 60.7% to 58%). The largest expenditures are planned for the system with EUR 8.4 billion, EUR 2.5 billion. A total of EUR 1.8 billion will be allocated for needs, EUR 1.2 billion for and , and EUR 3.2 billion for the and environment, while EUR 2.2 billion is intended for balanced development, transport and decentralization 💰🧮

2️⃣ Transport Minister Butkovic participated in the Via Vita congress of the Croatian Association for Roads and Railways, where he pointed out that EUR 3.5 billion is currently being invested in infrastructure, mainly from European funds. 3️⃣ Finance Minister Primorac pointed out that he was satisfied with the response of citizens to the issuance of treasury bills last week, and government bonds earlier this year. 4️⃣ PM Plenkovic and Economy Minister Filipovic opened works on the construction of the pipeline Zlobin - Bosiljevo, with a planned length of 58 kilometers, in which EUR 155 million will be invested. 2️⃣ Italian Prime Minister Meloni visited Croatia and held a meeting with Prime Minister Plenkovic. They discussed bilateral and relations between Croatia and Italy, illegal , temporary controls and the expansion of the European Union. 3️⃣ Prime Minister Plenkovic hosted a working dinner attended by Council of the European Union President Michel, Prime Minister of Meloni, Prime Minister of the Republic of Abela and Prime Minister of Morawiecki. 1️⃣ Economy Minister Filipovic participated in the traditional consultation of the Croatian Association of Economists in Opatija. On that occasion, he pointed out that Croatia is becoming an increasingly attractive destination. In the last four and a half years, more than EUR 13 billion of foreign investments were realized, and further improvement of the is expected through an additional reduction of parafiscal levies 💸🏗

2️⃣ The main topic of the meeting was economic cooperation, increasing the presence of Croatian companies on the Azerbaijani market, the European Union's mediation in reaching a peace agreement with Armenia, and Croatian assistance in demining Azerbaijan. It was pointed out that Croatia imports 90% of its from Azerbaijan, and the development of the Adriatic-Ionian was also discussed 🤝🇦🇿

3️⃣ Croatia plans to issue this month its first ever Treasury bills available to both retail and institutional , aiming to raise EUR 440 million. The maturity date of the issue is November 21, 2024 and its annual yield is 3.75%. To recall, the Finance Ministry set at 3.65% the annual coupon rate on its maiden two-year retail bond issue through which it raised EUR 1.85 billion earlier this year 🏛💰

4️⃣ At the conference, the results and trends in were analyzed, the biggest of which is , followed by tourism reform with a new strategy, investments with grants from NRRP and other sources, and the new Tourism Act. 1️⃣ The meeting discussed the prevention of illegal and the need to solve problems at the source, as well as Croatia's role in protecting the external borders of the . 2️⃣ With the adoption of the Lobbying Act, activities will be regulated for the first time in Croatia. The act will define what is lobbying, who lobbies and who the lobbied persons are. Registration in the Registry will become a requirement for commencing lobbying for all groups of lobbyists, both legal and natural persons (paid lobbyists and in-house lobbyists), as well as organizations or bodies representing professional, , or other sectoral interests, including professional, , and interest associations, employer associations, and civil society organizations 📑🏛

3️⃣ In Trieste, the Ministers of Interior Affairs of , Croatia and agreed in principle on the strengthening of mixed patrols, the establishment of joint centers for foreigners and regular meetings of ministers and directors 🚓🛡

4️⃣ With the signing of a contract worth almost EUR 30 million by the Ministry of Economy, the project for the preparation and research of potential in the context of centralized heating is being launched.
