With only 2 days of 2017 left, we are filled with thanksgiving as we reflect on all that's happened on our little corner of the island!
The faces that came through our doors- the hands that laid bricks & painted walls- the smiles & the sting of goodbyes both temporary and permanent- the language acquisition & cultural nuances- the realization of dreams & the plans to keep on going (not just ours but so many families along with us!) - shared meals & communion- long walks and hot days- cooler days and celebrating our first Christmas season here!

I'm dropping a link in the comments below for our Canada & US donation sites just in case you were hoping to make a contribution before the end of the year for tax purposes! We only need $3,000 to wrap up construction on the team centre and our family is at 65% funded... every bit each month helps!

A new coffee variety called Starmaya may dramatically shift prospects for coffee producers in the years to come. This article is an in depth look at Haitian coffee with some great suggestions on how to meet the unique challenges faced by coffee workers in this country.

"Another thing that hasn't changed is the know-it-all dogooderism shown by many deep-pocketed visitors to the island. This closing statement is what Mountain Beanery hopes to accomplish.
