I had the pleasure and the privilege to visit the annual European Veterinary Dental Forum this week. I always enjoy the Forum, but this time was special: my first time as a speaker.
We gave a presentation about harmonizing dental and anaesthesia teamwork in the zoo setting with my amazing Colleague, dr. Alexandra Biácsi. Presenting before an audience where almost all listeners were experts of zoo dentistry, was quite stressful, but also rewarding. Thank you all, who supported us! We also presented our poster about a complex dental treatment of a white tiger.
The European veterinary dental community is truly special. This year, there were more than 800 participants at the Forum and this number grows every year. 2 weeks before the Forum all whatsapp chats become active, plans are made for catching up, for having a drink and spend some quality professional and personal time together. I’m grateful for this community and I look forward to the EVDF in Edinburgh next year.
For now, the next 10 days include a busy working week in Krakow, followed by 2 days of wetlabs for Hungarian veterinarians. After an additional day of training veterinary students, I will be back to DENTALVET for some good, old-fashioned clinical work 😀
