Borders may change, but connections remain 🇭🇺

This day reflects on Hungarian communities around the world and the shared cultural identity that connects them, regardless of geography 🌍

Hungarians live across Europe, North America, South America and Australia, and many communities actively preserve language, traditions and cultural heritage through schools, associations and cultural events.

💡 Fun fact: Budapest is often considered a cultural reference point for many diaspora communities, especially in terms of language education and cultural programs.

At the same time, this day is also a reminder that identity in the modern world is often layered, global and interconnected ✨

Hungary’s story is not only local, but also global.

The future always starts with the next generation 👶

International Children’s Day is celebrated in many countries, but the way it appears in daily life can be surprisingly different 🌍

In Japan 🇯🇵 families often dedicate the day to traditions that highlight respect and growth, including symbolic decorations and family rituals.
In Brazil 🇧🇷 cities fill with public events, games and community programs that turn entire neighborhoods into celebration spaces.
In Scandinavia 🇸🇪 childhood is strongly shaped by independence, creativity and outdoor learning, which often reflects in how children experience this day.

🇭🇺 In Hungary, Children’s Day is also a well-known occasion with parks, cultural programs and family events across cities, celebrated on the last Sunday of May.

💡 Fun fact: In some countries, Children’s Day is not even on the same date, and in places like Mexico it is celebrated in April instead of June.

Childhood is universal, but its expression is beautifully diverse ✨

Summer is just around the corner ☀️🌿

Across Europe, late spring marks a noticeable shift in everyday life. Streets become livelier, cafés move outdoors, and travel plans start to take shape 🌍✈️

It is the beginning of a season when people spend more time outside, explore new places, and enjoy a slower rhythm compared to the colder months 🌸

For many, this period also brings movement across borders, whether for work, study, or new opportunities in different countries 🧭

Soon, summer will fully arrive, bringing longer days, warmer evenings, and a different pace of life across cities and communities 🌇✨

Pentecost is a widely celebrated tradition across Europe and beyond 🌿✨

The Pentecost is observed in many different ways around the world. While its origins are religious, it has also become a cultural moment that marks the arrival of summer and the renewal of community life 🌸☀️

In some countries it is celebrated with church services and processions ⛪, while in others it is connected to folk festivals, music, dancing, and local traditions that bring people together 🎶💃

Across Europe and beyond, Pentecost often includes seasonal fairs and community gatherings that highlight the connection between culture, nature, and the changing seasons 🌾🌼

What makes it unique is how each region adds its own customs and atmosphere, turning a shared tradition into something locally meaningful 🌍

From quiet family moments to lively public celebrations, Pentecost is a reminder of how traditions continue to connect communities across borders 🤝✨

Cultural diversity is one of the defining features of today’s world 🌍✨

On the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development, we are reminded that differences in language, traditions, communication styles, and ways of thinking are not barriers but opportunities for connection 🤝

In international environments, cultural diversity is not only present, it is essential. It shapes how people work together, solve problems, and build shared understanding across borders 🧭

Experiencing different cultures also helps us see the world from new perspectives, making collaboration richer and more meaningful 🌿

In an increasingly interconnected world, learning from each other is one of the most valuable forms of progress 🌏

Museums are more than places that preserve the past, they are spaces that connect people, stories, and ideas 🏛️🌍

On the occasion of International Museum Day, it is worth highlighting how culture can bring us closer together, even in a divided world.

This idea is also at the heart of the upcoming 29th Museum Festival (Múzeumok Majálisa) 🌸

📍 Hosted at the Hungarian National Museum
📅 16–17 May 2026 (Saturday–Sunday)

The event, organised in connection with the International Council of Museums (ICOM), follows this year’s theme:
“Museums connect the divided world.”

Over two days, the museum becomes a true meeting point for visitors, professionals, and communities alike 🤝

Visitors can expect a rich and diverse programme:
🔵 interactive presentations
🟡 guided tours and discussions
🔴 talks with experts
🟢 family-friendly activities
🟣 shared cultural experiences

The goal is to show that museums are not only about exhibitions, but living community spaces where the past helps us understand the present and think together about the future 🌿

Spring is one of the best times to slow down and spend more time outdoors 🌿☀️

One of the most iconic hiking experiences in Hungary is the National Blue Trail (Kéktúra) 🗺️

It is the longest continuously signposted hiking trail in Hungary, stretching about 1,183 km from Írott-kő to Hollóháza 🇭🇺

The route is divided into 27 sections, so it can be completed in parts over time, at your own pace 👣

Along the way, hikers pass mountains, lakes, forests, historic towns, castle ruins, and some of Hungary’s most beautiful natural landscapes 🌄🏰🌲

You can also collect stamps at checkpoints, with a dedicated stamp booklet to track your progress 📘🖊️

More than 9,000 people have already completed the full trail , but many enjoy it simply as a series of unforgettable day hikes and weekend adventures 🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️

Whether you start from the west or the east, every section offers a different view of Hungary’s natural and cultural diversity 🌍

Perfect for a spring escape into nature 🍃
