A Deutsche Telekom IT Solutions (DT-ITS) 1500 kollégával indult. Ma már több mint 5000-en dolgoznak azon, hogy mi jöjjön ezután, Budapesten, Debrecenben, Pécsen és Szegeden.

Tanórát nem csak tanteremben lehet tartani. Sőt! 🎒💻

A szendrőládi Bhim Rao Egyesület tanodájának diákjai jártak Debrecenben, a DT-ITS irodájában. Bepillanthattak abba, hogyan néz ki egy IT cég élőben - nem csak a monitorokon, hanem a mindennapokban is.

A látogatást Orth Tomas kollégánk szervezte azért, hogy megmutassa: az informatika világa mindenki előtt nyitva áll. Kollégánk a félév során önkéntes oktatóként foglalkozott a gyerekekkel, az informatika világába vezette be őket. 🙌

A programot évek óta a Bhim Rao Egyesülettel közösen szervezzük - az egyesület szakmai vezetője, Káló Norbert ebben a videóban beszélt arról, miért fontosak az ilyen találkozások.

Lessons don't only happen in a classroom. Quite the opposite! 🎒💻

Students from the Bhim Rao Association's learning center in Szendrőlád visited us at the DT-ITS office in Debrecen. They got a real look at what it's like inside an IT company - not just on screens, but in everyday life.

The visit was organized by our colleague Tamás Orth, with a simple goal: to show that the world of IT is open to everyone. Over the course of the semester, he worked with the kids as a volunteer instructor, introducing them to the world of IT. 🙌

We've been running this program together with the Bhim Rao Association for years - the association's professional lead, Norbert Káló, spoke in this video about why visits like this one matter so much.

Amid the unprecedented strain on the electricity grid, it's encouraging to see companies, institutions, and individuals coming together to respond to this critical situation. As an IT company employing 5,000+ people in Hungary, we've made decisions in three key areas:

1. Significantly reducing energy use in our offices
We've asked colleagues at all 4 locations to work from home. We've minimized cooling and lighting across most offices, keeping only a few small areas climate-controlled for tasks that require in-person presence.
Even in normal times, colleagues already work remotely around 80% of their hours, and summer vacations mean office attendance is already lower. We expect these measures to meaningfully cut our energy use.

2. Preparing for potential regional power outages
Grid load is expected to peak 5-10 PM. We're not scheduling critical deployments, releases, changes, or other operations requiring continuous availability during this window - an outage mid-change could put our clients' operations at risk.

3. Looking out for one another
Managers are staying closely connected with their teams, ready to respond quickly to anything affecting colleagues' health, work, or operational safety.

A few good tips for the days ahead:
🚫 Avoid the blazing sun when you can
💧 Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated
⚡ Save energy where you can
🚿 And water too - every drop counts!
Take care of yourselves and each other! 🧡

A villamosenergia-rendszert érintő, korábban soha nem tapasztalt kihívások közepette jó látni az összefogást, amellyel vállalatok, intézmények és magánemberek reagálnak a kritikus helyzetre. Több mint 5000 főt foglalkoztató hazai informatikai vállalatként három területen hoztunk döntéseket:

1. Jelentősen csökkentjük irodáink energiafelhasználását
Kollégáinkat arra kértük, hogy mind a 4 telephelyünkön dolgozzanak otthonról. Irodáink nagy részében minimálisra csökkentettük a hűtést és a világítást, csak néhány kisebb területet tartunk klimatizálva a személyes jelenlétet igénylő feladatokhoz.
Kollégáink normál működés során is munkaidejük mintegy 80%-ában távolról dolgoznak, a nyári szabadságok miatt az irodai jelenlét eleve alacsonyabb. Ezért az intézkedésekkel érdemben csökkenthetjük energiafelhasználásunkat.

2. Felkészültünk az esetleges regionális áramszünetekre
A hálózat terhelése várhatóan 17-22 óra között a legnagyobb. Erre az időszakra nem tervezünk kritikus fejlesztéseket, release-eket, change-eket vagy más, folyamatos rendelkezésre állást igénylő műveleteket – egy áramszünet ilyenkor ügyfeleink működését is veszélyeztetné.

3. Fokozottan figyelünk egymásra
A vezetők kiemelt feladata, hogy szoros kapcsolatban maradjanak csapataikkal, és gyorsan reagáljanak minden olyan helyzetre, amely a kollégák egészségét, munkáját vagy az operáció biztonságát érintheti.

Néhány jó tanács az elkövetkező napokra:

💧 Igyatok sokat, hidratáljatok rendesen
⚡ Takarékoskodjatok az árammal
🚿 És a vízzel is – minden csepp számít!

Fact: Debrecen is home to 49 German-affiliated companies, employing 10,000+ people.
Another fact: fewer and fewer students are choosing to learn German. 🤔

These two don't really add up and that's exactly what a recent forum, organized by EDC Debrecen and the University of Debrecen's Institute of Germanic Studies, set out to address. School leaders, university faculty, city representatives, and local employers sat down together to think it through.

We were part of that conversation. Beáta Szoták VP and our Head of Debrecen site represented DT-ITS and shared what we see from where we stand: language skills aren't a "nice-to-have on your CV." They're a real door-opener: to international projects, global teammates, and serious career opportunities.

The forum didn't stop at good intentions: an action plan is in the works, so German doesn't remain just a school subject but a real prospect. 💪 Because everyone agreed on one thing: the jobs of the future need to be built today.

A valóságban viszont a határidők nem mennek szabadságra. A feladatok ugyanúgy érkeznek, a meetingek ugyanúgy megtöltik a naptárt és a pörgés sem lesz kisebb attól, hogy kint süt a nap. De hogyan lehet hosszú távon jól működni ekkora nyomás mellett?

POV: you walk into a tech company for the first time and realize it's not nearly as scary as you thought. 👀

✨ New people ✨ New ideas ✨ Lots of questions ✨ Even more inspiration
If we want more women in tech, we can't wait until university. It has to start much earlier, the moment a high school girl sees, for the first time, that this world could be hers too.

That's why we organized T-GLOW for the third time in Debrecen. Throughout the day, participants got a behind-the-scenes look at Deutsche Telekom, met our colleagues, and had open conversations about career paths, challenges, and what it really takes to build something. But T-GLOW is really about one single moment - when someone thinks for the first time: "I could actually see myself doing this."

Judging by the smiles and the "Can I come back next year?" comments: we're on the right track. 💜
