The RInnoValleys Project brought together partners and stakeholders from across Europe for its 3rd Peer Learning Event at the Valletta Design Cluster.

• Keynotes from Gege Gatt (Ebo AI) and Jessica Camilleri (Malta Enterprise).
• Workshops on enhancing regional innovation and leveraging EU funding.
• Case studies and visits to the Malta Digital Innovation Authority and Supercharge Ventures.

Event Recap: Breaking Boundaries – Tackling Regional Challenges Through Transnational Innovation

On October 8, 2024, at the Albert Borschette Conference Centre, we gathered for Breaking Boundaries: Tackling Regional Challenges Through Transnational Innovation. The event brought together thought leaders and innovators from across Europe to explore collaborative approaches to overcoming regional challenges.

We were honored by the presence of Mr. Michiel Scheffer, President of the European Innovation Council (EIC), who expressed his appreciation for the efforts and insights shared by all partners. Mr. Scheffer highlighted the importance of such collaborative initiatives in fostering a stronger, more innovative Europe.

Our panel featured distinguished speakers:

Michiel Scheffer – President of the EIC
Ana Coelho – Director, ACCIO-Catalonia Trade and Investment
Kevin Flynn – Head, Irish Liaison Office for Research and Innovation

Chiara Frencia – Secretary General, Startup Europe Regions Network

During the event, we explored the RinnoValleys Project, a transnational initiative connecting regions from Catalonia, Greece, Malta, Hungary, Brussels, and Ireland to enhance access to the European Innovation Council. The discussions emphasized the importance of collaboration, creativity, and networking in tackling regional challenges and driving sustainable innovation.

Exciting Milestone for RinnoValleys! ✨🌍

We’re proud to announce a key step in the RinnoValleys project—a transnational joint action plan aimed at enhancing the connectivity of innovation ecosystems in Greece, Catalonia-Spain, Malta, Hungary, Belgium, and Ireland with the support of the European Innovation Council (EIC)! 🚀

Led by Envolve Entrepreneurship (Greece), and in collaboration with key partners:

🔹 ACCIÓ - Public Agency for Business Competitiveness (Catalonia, Spain)

🔹 Hungarian Innovation Agency (Hungary)

🔹 A8 (Malta)

🔹 National Association of Community Enterprise Centers (Ireland)

🔹 SERN - Startup Europe Regions Network Network (Belgium)

This one-year initiative, funded by Horizon Europe, addresses challenges in accessing EIC support services and fosters deeper connections between these six regional innovation ecosystems.

Our final meeting in Budapest on September 24-25, 2024, marked the launch of the taskforce for the start of the project’s second phase. With the groundwork laid, we’re ready to implement the Transnational Joint Action Plan and continue transforming these regions into thriving innovation valleys!

Special thanks to the Hungarian Innovation Agency for hosting the event and setting the stage for more impactful activities ahead.

Our RinnoValleys team just wrapped an incredible 2-day Peer Learning Event in Limerick, Ireland! 🤝 Hosted by our partners Community Enterprise Association Ireland, we dove headfirst into the vibrant Irish innovation ecosystem. 🚀

Here's a sneak peek of our eye-opening experience:

✔ Inspiring guest speakers: Leaders from Enterprise Ireland, Innovate Limerick, xocean, and more shared their wisdom. 🗣️

✔ Cutting-edge innovation centers: We explored the Nexus Innovation Centre, Future Mobility Ireland Campus, and Smarter Factory Technology Gateway 🤖

✔ International collaboration: Partners from Greece, Spain, Malta, Hungary, Belgium, and Ireland joined forces to learn and grow together. 💪
