We didn't set out to make safe wine.

Eden Wine is about colour. About character. About not being middle of the road.

Our labels are hand-drafted by Erik and the team themselves — bold, free, artisan. Each one carries a personal story and a reference to the Garden of Eden.

Our wines should be as characteristic as the people who make them.

That's the only rule we follow. 🌿

Gyöngyöspata. A quiet village in the Mátra foothills, northern Hungary. 800-900 years of winemaking history on volcanic soil.

This is where our 12 hectares of volcanic soil sit. Where ancient geology shapes every wine we make.

The Mátra region is one of Hungary's most exciting wine territories — and still one of its best kept secrets.

We intend to change that. 🍇

The story of the Genesis of Eden Wine:

Meet Eden Wine. 🍷

A small natural winery in Gyöngyöspata, northern Hungary — built by two very different people who share one obsession: honest wine.

Erik Slooten (Dutch, AI engineer) fell in love with Hungarian wine and volcanic soil. Páger Mátyás brings the craft and the deep knowledge of the land. In 2021 they sat together with Imre Halász at Balaton and came up with a plan.

12 hectares, volcanic terroir, and a shared motto:

"Make life really worth living."
