I'm experimenting with uses for broken BCDs (buoyancy control devices for the non divers among you). They make nice wallets. I combined this one with left over red cordura from a replacement beanbag cover that I made as red is Nico's favourite colour. The red bias binding was the warp thread from a rag rug that fell apart.

A mini upcycling win today that finally found a use for a curved strip of clear plastic that protected the teeth of the circular saw I bought 2 years ago, plus a random 28cm offcut of elastic. A few minutes work and I am now enjoying peak laziness. I barely need to exert any energy holding my kindle in bed.

We needed a new cool bag, so basing the design on our current Haagen Dazs bag I used the following to make another one:
- rigid yellow tarp salvaged from a dive site (HORRIBLE to sew with, never again),
- silver insulated envelope that a guest brought us some cheese in,
- webbing strap from a broken BCD,
- a brand new zip,
- two needles and some low-key swearing.

The last bit of SMB got folded in half and turned into a three-pocket zippered pouch. I love it! I've got one more dead SMB and have just returned from a shopping trip to buy more zips. :-)





These SMB wash bags are turning out rather nicely. If anyone wants to send their worn out SMBs my way.... :-)
