What Is a Sensor?

A sensor is an electronic device that detects changes in the physical environment—such as temperature, light, sound, pressure, motion, humidity, gas, magnetic fields, and force—and converts them into electrical signals that can be measured or processed.

From Temperature Sensors, LDRs, Ultrasonic and PIR Sensors to Gas, Pressure, Hall Effect, Current, Proximity, UV, Gyroscope, Accelerometer and Force Sensors, each sensor has a specific role in modern electronics and automation.

Sensors are the “eyes, ears, and senses” of electronic systems. They are widely used in smart homes, industrial automation, robotics, healthcare, security systems, weather monitoring, automobiles, and IoT devices.
