Posisi lahan yang memanjang dari arah Timur -Barat secara natural mendukung orientasi bukaan rumah ke arah Utara-Selatan, dimana kualitas pencahayaan matahari optimal ke dalam rumah tanpa terik yang berlebihan.

Unsur bangunan tropis dikuatkan dengan penggunaan atap pelana dengan aksen “folding” pada salah satu sisi yang sekaligus dimanfaatkan sebagai balkon yang berfungsi sebagai “elevated semi outdoor living room”

“Preservation the existing building”

Proyek bangunan ini ditujukan untuk mess karyawan hotel sekaligus dapat dijadikan sebagai homestay.

Pada lahan sudah berdiri bangunan lama yang memiliki nilai history yang ingin dipertahankan oleh owner.

Salah satu pendekatan desain yang diambil adalah dengan melalukan penambahan fungsi ruang baru tanpa menyentuh bangunan lama, menggunakan struktur terpisah yang melayang di atas bangunan existing.

Fasad bangunan baru dibuat berbeda dengan penggunaan kaca dan green secondary skin, menciptakan kontras dengan bangunan eksisting.
