As the borders open upon the pandemic relief and traveling recovery, the Sun Sang Eco Village Digital Portal (booking facility) is launched today for engaging more local and foreign tourists who would opt for traveling at sustainability with low carbon footprint.

Sun Sang Eco Village is a partnership project supported by the Public Private Partnership by Youth in Bali Island initiative curated by the Good City Foundation since January 2019. The partnership was supported by ICCN Indonesia Creative Cities Network , Harvard Graduate School of Design (China and ASEAN), Denpasar Tourism (Denpasar Tourism Promotion Board), Universitas Udayana (Architecture Faculty), Global Shapers Denpasar Hub and many creative and entrepreneurial communities.

Good City Foundation continued the season II of development program “Public-Private Partnership by Youth”(PPP by Youth) in Bali City, Indonesia, with joint partnership of Harvard Graduate School of Design(ChinaGSD), City Government of Denpasar, Bali, Indonesia and Tourism Board.

In this Public Private Partnership by Youth Bali 2020, the development program aims to carry out deep dialogue with the local government to understand the development and planning of future tourism in Bali Island, and develop an urban transformation case with the portfolio venture Sun Sang Village, a village expansion blueprint would be formulated in the program.

[ About Sun Sang Eco Village ] :

Sun Sang Eco Village is a community property, with each bamboo house co-owned by impact investors and managed by our management. Working closely with local communities, we offer sustainable solutions to over development problems in Bali. By using renewable resources to build houses, we aim to reduce carbon footprint usually linked to property development. To further promote our agenda, we also provide a learning center that is open to the public, a space for a permaculture garden, and solar energy for electricity.

"South Asia's Rising Innovation Valley by the Himalayas"

In the innovation scene of Nepal, the maker space is pretty dominant in the ecosystem. Specially during the COVID19 crisis, entrepreneurs have come up with innovative ideas using drones, robotics, 3D printing and other technologies to tackle the crisis in the health sector, commerce, education, digital governance and so on. Many of these have led to Public-Private Partnership (PPP) for nationwide scaling. To facilitate the growth, INGOs, institutions like King’s College, communities like Robotics Association of Nepal, National Innovation Centre etc have been playing a major role.
The 10th episode of “City and the Cities” aims to learn how Nepalese NextGen leaders have taken rapid steps to tackle the COVID19 crisis, what role Public-Private Partnership can play to foster the growth of Nepalese innovation, how the entrepreneurs foresee the scopes to scale up their startups in global market and how INGOs can help to navigate the innovators towards the right path.
The question is, can good governance, policy reformation, Public-Private Partnership and international collaboration turn Kathmandu valley into the Silicon valley of SAARC? Let’s explore together in the upcoming episode.
