Quarterly Report by Colliers on Bali’s Hospitality Market 🏝

The international company Colliers has released its Q3 2024 report on Bali’s hotel market ⤵️

Key Figures from the Last Quarter:
- Average Occupancy: 80.1%
- Average Daily Rate (ADR): $172.2
- Total Hotel Rooms: 58,139

Bali is in its high season, with growing tourist arrivals and record-breaking occupancy and price levels. August was particularly strong, with an average daily rate of $182 ‼️

Notable Insights:
- The total hotel room supply has remained relatively unchanged since 2019, despite many hotels closing during the pandemic and not reopening.
- Most closures affected hotels in less favorable locations, including major highways, parts of Benoa, Kuta, Jimbaran, and other less desirable areas.

Future Outlook:
By 2027, the total hotel inventory is expected to increase by 1,178 units.

Two standout projects under construction are:
- Mandarin Oriental in Bukit
- Kempinski in Ubud

Gili Islands: How to Get There and What to See?

If you find yourself in Bali and decide to settle on the famous Gili Islands, keep this post handy as we’ll tell you all the details.

How to Get There?

There are three ways to get from Bali to the Gili Islands.

1. By Fast Boat from Padang Bai.
A fast boat is a popular choice among tourists.

💸 Purchase tickets through tourist kiosks (they are everywhere in Bali), ticket cost starting from 700,000 IDR.

2. By Ferry through Lombok.
This route is advisable if you have a limited budget and you’re traveling on your own bike. It takes more time but saves money.

💸 Purchase tickets upon arrival at the harbor: 62,200 IDR per person and 160,000 IDR for a scooter.

3. By Plane through Lombok.
In any case, you fly to Lombok airport, from there you need to travel to the Bangsal port and then take a public boat to Gili.

⏱️ In terms of time, this will take more or less the same as a fast boat, if not longer. The flight itself is 40 minutes.

Which Island to Choose? 🤔

🏝️ Gili Trawangan — the party island.
Parties happen every night on Trawangan. Each day of the week is associated with a particular bar or club allowed to party that night.

🏝️ Gili Air — the first island of the Three Gilis to be inhabited by Bugis people, who are the indigenous population.
Parties are also held here but are more laid-back compared to Trawangan and are not held every evening. Suitable for couples, families, and health-conscious enthusiasts.

🏝️ Gili Meno — a very quiet island.
Even during holidays, there are very few tourists. Surprisingly, this is where the main attractions of the islands are located: the underwater sculpture “Nest” and the Turtle Heaven spot.
