These blocks prevent you from taking the right actions or doing them at a high level. When this happens, you cannot effectively achieve your goals, fulfill your vision, or enjoy the life you want. What was your biggest “needle mover” in 2023?

2023 It was quite possibly my most productive year yet.

I completed 18 major projects that made my coaching business more systemised, helped clients get better results, faster and created tools and trainings that they can access for the rest of their lives.

I built systems and worked on my mindset so I can maximise my success over the next 5 years (my definition of success is based on having a positive impact on people, my financial targets and having lots time available for my top 5 values).

Stress, anxiety, and fearing worst-case scenarios create a mind fog that makes it much harder to make strategic business decisions.

Imagine waking up thinking, "not another day!" Well, that's how Brian felt before he reached out to me.

A lot of business owners think, "if I were more successful, had more money, and had a bigger team, I wouldn't feel this way." But, that's just not the case.

The external never clears up the internal. Brian was already successful, was in a great financial position, and had a growing team. Yet, he woke up feeling, in his words, a 2/10 and frustrated.

🌴 3 Weeks in Bali 🌴

My favourite thing about travel is the 'mental space' you get. Being away from my usual environment and having an adventure always amplifies my creativity and clarifies my vision for the next part of my life.

Some people find it really hard to switch off when they are away, but I've always found it easy. I guess that's because subconsciously I know that if I switch off completely, my brain will get the chance to get fully refreshed, and the byproduct of that is creativity, passion, and vision.

I always come back from holidays with answers to problems, clear next steps to move projects along, and a real sense of how I need to grow personally in order to achieve what I want to achieve, help who I want to help, and be who I want to be.

This is the first holiday that I chose to work while away. I've got clients in 11 countries, and being able to have strategic days where I helped clients and ran online workshops for two different organisations added an extra buzz to the trip. I know I'm a nerd, but I love what I love, and I love my work.

Highlights of the trip: 1-on-1 time with Anna (my wife👸). I get excited about life just by hanging out with her. Quad biking and go-karting with my brother-in-law and living to tell the tale (those Bali safety standards are questionable). Climbing Mt. Batur at 3 am in the morning for 2.5 hours to see an epic sunrise and meeting up with friends and making new memories.

The 'old Ben' would have been unable to experience this kind of trip or have this kind of life. If I never worked on my mindset, I would still be the stressed out, super serious, shy, people-pleasing, procrastinating, out of control, worst-case scenario thinker that would never have the ability to achieve all those big goals he dreamed about.

Have I achieved everything? Definitely not! But I'm blessed, thankful for what I have and who I've helped, and I'm ready for the next leg of this thing called life.

💭 thoughts while on a flight last night ✈️

I’ve never met anyone who automatically felt comfortable with failing, making mistakes, or looking bad.

I believe that everyone who achieved something great had to, at one point, intentionally reevaluate how they were going to perceive and respond to failure.

They had to change what failure meant to them so they could keep growing and persevering toward what they wanted.

The best thing you can do is sit down and evaluate what failure means to you, notice what feelings it brings up, and what story you’re telling yourself. Just this alone will show you why you don’t make big progress in some areas of life.
