Benefits of Oranges for Health Proven in Research
Good for heart health The content of hesperidin contributes to the benefits of oranges for heart health. Hesperidin in citrus fruit is a potential therapeutic agent capable of modulating several risk factors for cardiovascular disease. In the journal "Nutrients 12(5) May 2020" described, hesperidin demonstrated glucose-lowering and anti-inflammatory properties in models of diabetes, dyslipidemia, atherosclerosis, as well as obesity-preventive effects that are beneficial for cardiovascular health. Hesperidin has also been shown to positively support the endothelial cells that line blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease. Research has shown that consumption of hesperidin and other bioflavonoids found in oranges can lower the risk of cardiovascular disease.
