Strengthening Thailand–Indonesia Educational Cooperation 🇹🇭🇮🇩

The Thai Trade Center, Jakarta and the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta welcomed representatives from Institut Teknologi dan Sains Bandung (ITSB) for a meeting at the Royal Thai Embassy, Jakarta to discuss future educational collaboration between Thailand and Indonesia.

The discussion focused on introducing ITSB educational programs for Thai students, scholarship opportunities, and strengthening cooperation between universities in both countries.

During the meeting, the Thai Trade Center, Jakarta also introduced the upcoming “Business Delegation for Education Services in Indonesia 2026” in Jakarta, including the Education B2B Matching and Study in Thailand Expo activities, and invited ITSB to participate in the B2B program to explore future partnerships with Thai educational institutions.

This initiative reflects the shared commitment to enhancing academic partnerships, student mobility, and educational connectivity within ASEAN.

On 14 May 2026, the Thai Trade Center Jakarta had a meeting with representatives of Singha Worldwide Pte. Ltd., led by Ms. Titiporn Thammapimookkul, Co-Manager of the company and Chief Marketing Officer of Boonrawd Trading Co., Ltd., to discuss opportunities and strategies for expanding Thai products in the Indonesian market.

🇹🇭🇮🇩 Indonesia’s Fresh Fruit Imports in 2025: Highlighting Thailand’s Key Role

Indonesia’s total fresh fruit imports (HS Code 0801–0810, exc. 0802) reached US$ 1,568.3 million in 2025. Among the world’s top supplying nations, Thailand ranks 2nd in fresh fruit exports to Indonesia, contributing US$ 179.0 million (89,311 tons).

Indonesia recorded its highest import value from Thailand in the Fruit, Nesoi, Fresh (HS 0810) category, which covers tropical and specialty fruits, with a total value of US$ 178,915,475.

Focusing on Thailand’s contribution, Indonesia imports Longans (Mata Kucing), Fresh as the predominant Thai fruit, representing 99.81% of Thailand’s total fresh fruit exports to Indonesia (US$ 178,570,280), followed by Tamarinds, Fresh at 0.19%.

This data underscores the strong and growing trade relationship between Thailand and Indonesia in the fresh fruit sector.

On 7 May 2026, Thai Trade Center Jakarta visited PT Inter Buana Mandiri, an Indonesian importer and distributor of food and beverage products serving modern trade, wholesale, and HoReCa channels. The company is headquartered in Surabaya and imports products from China, Europe, and Thailand.

During the meeting with Mr. Soegiarto Leonata and Ms. Felicia Leonata, the company introduced its product range, including staple foods, seasonings, snacks, and beverages. Thai products currently imported include Pueng Ngee Chiang, Siam Elephant, Mae Fu Bean Vermicelli, Mae Fu Original Fish Sauce, and Quick Fresh Snack Bar.
