The latest edition of Valoka is now live.

We are in a moment where global change is not only rapid, but layered. Geopolitical tensions, accelerating digital adoption, shifting regulations, and rising expectations around accountability are happening at the same time. Together, they are reshaping how organizations set direction, make decisions, and build resilience.

This edition of Valoka looks at how governance and strategy are evolving in that reality.

On a macro level, Dr. Dini Rosdini look at how in an uncertain environment, public trust is no longer optional. It is what determines whether policies work and whether growth can be sustained.

Regulation is moving in the same direction. Marek Kosmowski observes Vietnam’s AI law marks the rise of a new AI regulatory approach in Southeast Asia, while Satya Rinaldi notes that Bank Indonesia’s latest regulation raises the bar for payment system and service providers, shifting the focus from compliance to real, demonstrated readiness.

At the same time, risk is becoming more complex and more forward-looking. Based on research by Veda Praxis and Digits, Saskia Salmana highlights the key risks that organizations in Indonesia are likely to face in 2026, emphasizing the need to anticipate, not just respond.

Governance practices are evolving just as quickly. BCA’s ISO/IEC 42001 certification signals a stronger push to embed AI governance into daily operations. Kudos to the teams at Veda Praxis and SGS for their hard work and collaboration in achieving this milestone.

In parallel, Deden Darajat Muharam underlined how governance is being strengthened through the development of sharia fund frameworks. Meanwhile, Tri Listyowati highlighted the growing importance of managing third-party risk as organizations become increasingly interconnected.

Across these perspectives, one thing is clear. Governance is no longer just about oversight. It is what determines how ready an organization is to navigate change.

The World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026 highlights a clear shift in how organizations experience cyber risk as their resilience matures.

Organizations with lower cyber resilience are still focused on foundational internal challenges:
- lack of funding (63%)
- cybersecurity talent shortages (56%)
- visibility gaps across IT, OT, and IoT environments (56%)

Meanwhile, highly resilient organizations are increasingly focused on external and ecosystem-level threats:
- third-party and supply chain vulnerabilities (78%)
- rapidly evolving threats and emerging technologies (56%)
- growing regulatory complexity (41%)

The findings suggest that as organizations strengthen their cyber resilience, they become better prepared to handle internal capability gaps and can focus more on navigating a rapidly evolving external threat landscape.

Cyber resilience is therefore no longer only about protecting internal systems. It is increasingly about preparedness, the ability to anticipate, withstand, and respond to interconnected risks across vendors, partners, platforms, and supply chains.

Veda Praxis’ team of experienced cybersecurity experts can help your organization assess your cybersecurity readiness, strengthen resilience, and prepare for a rapidly evolving threat landscape. Contact us:

Digital lending is reshaping access to finance in Indonesia, but the conversation is far from settled.

As adoption grows, so do the questions around trust, regulation, and long-term impact.

In this article, Mekhdi Ibrahim Jordan, a member of IFSoc’s Steering Committee, unpacks the legal tensions and broader implications of digital lending in Indonesia.

Privacy is becoming one of the most critical pillars of digital trust. As organizations collect, process, and rely on more data than ever before, expectations around data protection, governance, and accountability continue to grow.

At the same time, the skills required to manage privacy are becoming more complex. The latest ISACA State of Privacy report highlights that many organizations still face capability gaps across technical expertise, technology knowledge, regulatory understanding, and IT operations.

Many organizations are therefore strengthening internal teams while also accessing specialized expertise through talent augmentation, allowing them to scale privacy capabilities more quickly and effectively.

Veda Praxis’s CEO, Syahraki Syahrir, had the privilege of engaging with the bright minds of 180 Degrees Consulting (180DC) in a dynamic sharing session at Universitas Diponegoro. The discussion was sharp, thoughtful, and grounded, reflecting a generation that is already building strong analytical foundations.

Communities like 180DC play a crucial role in bridging theory and practice. Students are not only learning concepts, but actively applying them to real business challenges, developing a mindset that is both rigorous and relevant.

This is precisely where our philosophy comes to life. At Veda Praxis, we believe that Veda (knowledge) must translate into Praxis (practice). The intersection of insight and ex*****on is where meaningful impact is created.

Through continued collaboration with student ecosystems, including initiatives like Whiz Ideation Community in West Java, we remain committed to nurturing consulting talents who are ready to contribute across sectors.

Because the future of consulting starts here.

A very proud day for Veda Praxis. 🇮🇩

Our Managing Partner & Co-Founder, Pak Satya Rinaldi (Pak Tito) has been named a 2026 Top Consultant honoree by Consulting Magazine in the Asia-Pacific Advisory category.
Consulting Magazine’s Top Consultants programme has recognised leaders in the profession since 2000. 2026 is the inaugural year of its dedicated international track.
The recognition reflects Pak Tito’s work as IT and Digitalisation Consultant to ASBANDA, supporting the BPD-SI Digital Transformation Blueprint and the BPD Go Digital programme across all 26 Regional Development Banks in Indonesia.
For us, this belongs to a bigger story. Since 2005, Veda Praxis has stood alongside Indonesian institutions navigating governance, risk, cybersecurity, and digital transformation. Over the past several years, that work has expanded across Southeast Asia, with teams in Jakarta, Semarang, Surabaya, Ho Chi Minh City, Singapore, and beyond.
And a broader point. Southeast Asian consulting is still too rarely recognised on the global stage, even as the region delivers some of the most consequential advisory work of this decade. For the next generation of Indonesian and ASEAN consultants, a recognition like this matters.
Selamat, Pak Tito. Thoroughly deserved.

On 7 April, , , and co-hosted a webinar on one of the biggest regulatory shifts in Indonesia: the new Criminal Code (KUHP 2023), effective since January 2026.

The key change - criminal liability now extends from individuals to corporations. This demands a proactive, integrated response across legal compliance, governance, and organisational culture.

Prof. Dr. Prija Djatmika (Universitas Brawijaya) delivered the keynote on corporate criminal liability under the new Code. Setyawati Fitrianggraeni, FCIArb., FAIADR., CLA (Managing Partner, Anggraeni and Partners) framed the case for shifting from reactive to proactive legal risk management. Dadan Gunawan, CIA (Veda Praxis) presented systemic GRC frameworks, and Edwin Djakaria, S.E M.Sc (Stevland Bridge) addressed building compliance culture from within.

If your organization operates in Indonesia and has not yet assessed its exposure under KUHP 2023, reach out to us for a complimentary consultation.
