Foundations of Mangement - FoM
The new FoM certificate program provides essential knowledge and tools for new managers, supervisors, and leaders that are not yet ready to tackle the CM certification. The FoM is the product of a comprehensive Job Task Analysis study that identified the knowledge, skills, and abilities that new supervisors and managers need to perform competently in today's workplace. There are no eligibility requirements to participate in the FoM program. Participants register simply by purchasing the FoM program materials through ICPM's online store.
The FoM program comprises approximately 45 hours of learning and includes a custom-published FoM study manual (in print or e-book format), access to the ICPM e-Learning Center, and a 90-item exam to validate learning. The e-Learning Center includes multimedia learning resources to augment the study manual and practice exams. Registrants can complete the FoM program as self-directed study or group instruction. Participants who successfully complete the coursework and pass the comprehensive FoM exam receive a certificate of completion to document their achievement.
The FoM exam consists of 90 multiple choice questions that assess new manager competencies validated by ICPM's Job Task Analysis . The proctored exam is administered online and closed-book through the ICPM e-Learning Center and is time-limited to a maximum of 90 minutes. The FoM exam must be taken within 12 months of registering for the FoM program. Exam results are reported as "pass" or "fail." A failed exam can be retaken for a fee.
