On 23 May, our Deloitte ID basketball team stepped outside the office to compete in the final game of Tower Bersama Infrastructure Group (TBIG) Basketball Tournament series, which began on 9 May. The tournament brought together distinguished companies from across Indonesia, including our valued clients and partners.

Beyond the game itself, the event served as a valuable opportunity to strengthen connections in a more personal and engaging setting. Through shared energy, teamwork, and friendly competition, we built trust and fostered authentic relationships that go beyond day-to-day professional interactions.

In April, as part of Deloitte’s commitment to creating meaningful societal impact through our Deloitte WorldClass initiative, some of our Deloitte Indonesia colleagues visited Aceh Tamiang to distribute school supplies and enhance local learning facilities. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Save the Children Indonesia and supported by the local education agency (Dinas Pendidikan).

During the month of Ramadan, Deloitte Indonesia colleagues collectively raised IDR 300,000,000 in donations to support children in Sumatra whose education had been disrupted by recent floods. The funds were used to provide school supplies, back-to-school kits, and reading materials, helping students return to learning with greater confidence and continuity. The contribution was formally received by the Head of the Local Education Agency of Aceh Tamiang, helping to ensure the support reached the children who needed it most.

Beyond essentials, the initiative also improved the learning environment through the provision of classroom desks and chairs, whiteboards, teaching aids, and bookshelves, creating welcoming reading corners designed to inspire learning and growth. 304 students across Aceh Tamiang and Tapanuli Tengah now have improved access to educational resources and a more supportive environment in which to learn and thrive.

On 7 May, Deloitte Indonesia Chinese Services Group (CSG) hosted a workshop titled “Managing Tax Risks in Indonesia: Tax Audit Developments, Transfer Pricing Defense, and Pillar Two Insights.”

The session explored recent developments in Indonesia’s tax audit landscape, particularly under PMK-15/2025, key considerations in defending transfer pricing positions, and the implications of Pillar Two, including its impact on tax incentives, Coretax, and data-driven tax governance.

The workshop opened with remarks by John Lauwrenz, Deloitte Indonesia Tax & Legal Leader and CSG Leader. Elly Susanti and Binsar Telaumbanua from Deloitte Indonesia’s Business Tax team then shared practical insights into the latest tax audit regulatory framework and how Chinese companies can better prepare for tax audits in Indonesia.

Shivaji Das and Nikomedes Lianto from the Deloitte Indonesia Transfer Pricing team also highlighted how companies can build stronger transfer pricing audit defense strategies and what being “audit-ready” truly means in practice. The discussion explored how Advance Pricing Agreements (APA) can support long-term certainty, reduce recurring disputes, and strengthen tax governance through proactive planning and internal readiness.

Rounding up the session, Daniel Alexander Laoh from the Deloitte Indonesia Transfer Pricing team presented an overview of Pillar Two developments in Indonesia, its implications for Chinese companies, as well as the broader impact on tax incentives, Coretax, and the evolving audit framework. This underscored the growing importance of integrated, data-driven tax management, where organisations increasingly require stronger coordination across local tax compliance, transfer pricing, financial reporting, and Pillar Two obligations.

The event concluded with clinic sessions, giving participants the opportunity to connect directly with our Deloitte Indonesia Tax & Legal professionals and discuss specific business challenges and explore tailored insights relevant to their organisations.
