Delighted to reflect on the successful APAC Partner Conference 2026, held in Peninsula Manila on 4–5 June, bringing together 110 Partners from across the region - a valuable opportunity to reconnect, align, and shape our collective priorities moving forward.

Ahead of the main conference, we also hosted our Service Line (SL) meetings, providing a focused opportunity for deeper discussions, knowledge sharing, and alignment within each practice area.

A highlight of the program was the SolarBuddy workshop, where Partners came together to assemble solar lights for children living in energy poverty. This meaningful activity not only encouraged teamwork but also reinforced our commitment to creating a positive impact beyond our business.

A sincere thank you to Jacquie for hosting us so warmly in Manila, and to all speakers, Partners, and teams involved in making this event success.

We look forward to continuing the momentum and turning our discussions into impact.

On 13–14 May, we were delighted to host the Business Development Accelerator Program in Bangkok, bringing together 11 participants from India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand for two engaging days of learning, collaboration, and exchange.

Led by Rudi Lang, the program combined practical exercises, real-life examples, and open discussions to help participants strengthen their business development mindset and enhance the skills needed to build trusted client relationships. Participants were encouraged to think differently about value creation, identifying opportunities, and delivering long-term impact for clients.

One of the highlights of the program was a session with Rob Hurenkamp, Managing Partner of Thailand, who generously shared his personal business development journey and practical insights. His reflections on relationship building, trust, and consistency offered participants an authentic perspective on effective business development in practice.

The program provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen capabilities, exchange experiences, and continue building confidence in business development across the firm.

The Indonesian Minister of Finance recently released M*F Regulation No. 28 Year 2026 (“M*FR 28/2026”) enacted on 1 May 2026 concerning Procedures for Preliminary Tax Refunds. It essentially revokes M*FR 39/2018 and its amendments concerning the same subject.
M*FR 28/2026 introduces new stricter requirements on the qualifications of taxpayers eligible for accelerated tax refunds, new thresholds on revenues and tax overpayments are set under the low-limit refunds taxpayers, rigorous analysis undertaken by the DGT in granting the tax refunds as well as considerations that trigger revocation of the golden taxpayer and the low risk VATable entrepreneur status by the DGT.
