The second annual 'By-Invitation-Only' Indonesia Cyber Security Summit (ICSS), this coming August 2015, will become one of the key annual gathering for both the domestic and regional “Information Resilience and Cyber Security Community”. ICSS is an independent forum dedicated to promote Cyber Resilience, which is now becoming increasingly critical and is seen as the new objective for modern c
orporate and public leadership. ICSS is also meant to promote peaceful conflict resolution, international collaboration and dialogue in dealing with today’s and future security challenges in the cyber space. Organized and managed by IDEX, this annual Indonesia Cyber Security event will allow interactive discussions among top and senior executives of the Indonesian corporate business and public sector community, legislators, and experts to exchange understanding, ideas and solutions for mitigating threats on our cyber space. ICSS was conceived and develop due to the lack of understanding in the area of Information Resiliency and Cyber Security, which is increasingly growing and affecting all levels of society, whether it is national, local, or personal. With a few strokes of a keyboard, nation states, terrorist groups, stateless organizations, and rogue individuals can launch a cyber-attack from anywhere, at any time, disrupting and damaging our democracy and way of life. INDONESIA CYBER SECURITY SUMMIT's (ICSS) mission is to establish a 'multi-stakeholder approach' that brings together the industry, government and academic interests in an effort to improve Indonesia's state of cyber security on both a domestic and international level. Due to the vast scope of cyber threats, it requires active engagement of all stakeholders, including entities and organizations – large and small - across every industry. We believe that Indonesia is uniquely positioned to become one of the first in the nation in ASEAN to develop and practice this model and approach of cyber security. Indonesia has also its unique elements, which if combined and leveraged effectively, can yield innovative cyber security solutions. These elements include a private sector with a global footprint and an understanding of corporate and international dimensions of cyber security, growing high tech industry segments that depend on securing their assets, world-class research university and institutions, and informed and engaged public policy leaders. However, one of the most important resources that Indonesia boasts is its engaged and active ICT-minded community.
