GTM recently had the pleasure of welcoming the team from Misi Karang, a student-led association founded in 2022 by three AgroParisTech students with a shared commitment to protecting marine ecosystems. Since its inception, Misi Karang has continued its mission through new teams of passionate students dedicated to raising awareness and taking action for ocean conservation.
During their visit to our facility at BRIDA Nusa Tenggara Barat, the Misi Karang team observed how GTM’s pyrolysis technology transforms plastic waste into alternative resources such as diesel, hydrogen, and carbon black. They had the opportunity to learn about our waste-processing system in action and explore the role of decentralized waste solutions in supporting sustainable island communities.
The team also learned about GTM’s collection post plan, an upcoming initiative designed to engage local communities in the plastic waste recovery process. By establishing accessible collection points across key areas, this system aims to streamline the flow of plastic waste from households and small businesses to our processing facility. The initiative not only supports our operational needs but also empowers communities to take part in environmental protection.
In addition, the team interviewed GTM’s Managing Director, who shared insights into the challenges of waste management in the region and GTM’s long-term vision for innovation and sustainability.
GTM is proud to collaborate with emerging environmental leaders like Misi Karang, and we look forward to future partnerships that support our shared mission of sustainability, innovation, and community-driven change.
