Ranelagh, keep an eye out for these bins next time you grab your coffee ☕♻️ We're proud to be the collection partner for The Cup Collective, an initiative that places speciality recycling bins inside local cafés and retailers. No matter where you bought your cup, you can now drop it in and give it a greener ending.

This is Phase 2 of a scheme that saw over 300,000 cups collected, segregated and recycled across Dublin in Phase 1. And the benefits go beyond the cup itself: as Dublin City Council has noted, it's already reducing the volume of waste going into public bins, easing pressure on the city's waste infrastructure and cutting down on how often those bins need to be serviced.

Did you know that for every 10 AA batteries sold in Ireland, only 4 get recycled? That means 6 out of 10 are living out their days in a junk drawer, a forgotten TV remote, or, worst case scenario, your household bin. 🔋

And it's not just AA batteries. It's the lithium ones tucked inside finished v**es, the rechargeables from old phones, the ones still inside the wireless mouse you haven't used in a while. They all count. And they all need to go somewhere better.

The good news? "Somewhere better" is probably closer than you think. WEEE can recycle your electronics at any of our recycling centres.

Here's something the battery in your pocket probably doesn't want you to know...

⚡ Lithium batteries on your phone, v**e, earbuds, your kid's tablet, you name it, don't exactly bow out gracefully when they end up in the wrong place. They're one crush away from setting off something called thermal runaway: extreme heat, flammable gas, and a genuinely dangerous situation. It's more common than it should be. And the fix couldn't be simpler than a drop-off at one of the recycling centres.

Just a small detour away from making a real difference. 💚

From the coffee machine to the electric toothbrush, these items all have a place to go that isn't your black bin.

This Earth Day, we're breaking down exactly what goes where, because with 34 years of experience helping Irish homes and businesses sort waste better, we know a thing or two about making recycling more like second nature. ♻️

Here's a quick reminder of the basics:

Clean, dry & loose = recycling bin 🌿

Food scraps, meat, fish, teabags = compost bin

Everything else = general waste 🗑️

Read the full guide via the link below, your bins (and the planet) will thank you. 👇

Did you know your disposable v**e is classified as e-waste? 🔋

Tossing it in household bins can cause long-lasting harm in the environment, but recycling it only takes seconds.

Just hand it back when you buy your next one, or drop it into a battery box at your local supermarket.

Disposable v**es are everywhere. Easy to buy, easy to use, and when they run out, easy to bin. But that split-second decision carries a lot more current

While filming at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh, we MAY have had a few outtakes along the way…

But it just goes to show that behind every bin is a team (or Barry) working hard to make recycling as easy and straightforward as possible.

We were delighted to spend the day with the crew at Páirc Uí Chaoimh, thank you 🐼💚

Food from matchday doesn’t have to go to waste. At Páirc Uí Chaoimh, our compost bins help turn food scraps into value.

It’s a simple change that makes a big difference, and it shows how sustainability at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh is built on teamwork both on and off the pitch 🐼💚
