I had the pleasure of attending the official launch of Vet Space Ireland last Friday. It was wonderful to see so many representatives from across the veterinary community and beyond come together for the launch of a professional media and networking platform for all of the profession. Vets, Nurses, Support team, students and industry alike. Looking forward to supporting and following their progress, its amazing what a small voluntary team of committed individuals can achieve and their success in putting Ireland on the global veterinary stage.

This time last week, I was attending the IVNA (Irish Veterinary Nursing Association) 2026 Congress and was completely shocked and hugely appreciative to receive an award recognising my contribution to the advancement of Veterinary Nursing.

This is not something I have done alone. It has truly been a collective effort shared with so many incredible people I’ve had the pleasure of working with over the years — fellow veterinary nurses, colleagues and dear friends, some of whom I have shared decades with.

I have worked alongside committee members of the IVNA and VCI, Vets and many colleagues across industry who continue to support and champion the role of Veterinary Nurses.

I am deeply grateful for the support, encouragement and friendships along the way. This award means more than I can say, and I feel very honoured to have received it 💚
