Any farmer that feels they may be eligible to avail of this scheme should contact the office on 059 9107937 or 087 6913103, before the 11th of August, to begin their application.

To be eligible for the scheme to support Long Established Young Farmers, an applicant must:

- Have submitted a BISS application under a herd number on which you are included in 2025;

- Have submitted an application under the Basic Payment Scheme in 2015 under a herd number on which you are included;

- Be aged no more than 40 in 2015 (born on or after 1 July 1975);

- Have set up as the head of an agricultural holding for the first time on or before 31st December 2007;

- Have successfully completed a recognised agricultural education course at FETAC Level 6 or equivalent by 29th May 2015;

- Did not previously benefit under the Young Farmer Installation Aid Scheme (Installation Aid);

- Did not benefit under the Basic Payment Scheme National Reserve, including allocations under the so-called ‘Scottish Derogation’ (which was for persons who never held entitlements under the Single Payment Scheme but who actively farmed in 2013).

The scheme to support Long Established Young Farmers - commonly referred to as 'Forgotten Farmers' - is open for submission of applications.

Farming organisations had called for the inclusion of standalone generators in TAMS III after thousands of farmers were left without power, in many cases for weeks, in the aftermath of storm Éowyn.

Last Saturday we held a successful ACRES Training Course Day for our Tranche 2 applicants.
We would like to thank Michael Eustace from AskMe Landscaping, who demonstrated how to plant hedges and trees under ACRES regulations and promoted his products. We’d also like to thank Margaret Farrell from Teagasc, who discussed Climate Change with our attendees and the different ways farmers are expected to reach EU targets to reduce emissions. And last, but not least, we want to thank Liam Lawlor, who also came by to discuss farm safety in relation to farm machinery and road safety regulations.

Thank you to Pat Comerford & Con O'Connell from IFAC for attending some of our recent Knowledge Transfer meetings. They spoke to the attendees about Farm Succession & Pensions, tax & PRSI issues and the Fair Deal Scheme, as well as a range of other topics.

Helen Heffernan, psychiatric nurse and educator, attended some of our recent Knowledge Transfer group meetings and gave our attendees a presentation on the importance of maintaining good mental health and how to prevent unhealthy mental habits in relation to farmers
